The Role:

To help build on this success and drive further growth in China, Paragon Software Systems are looking for a business development professional ideally with a technology or logistics background. It is anticipated that this person will play a key role in the future set up and operation of Paragon Software Systems’ own company in China. This provides an excellent career opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Drive forward Paragon Software Systems’ China business development activities
• Identify and develop new opportunities for Paragon
• Work with the UK team to drive a good opportunity through the sales cycle, to closure
• Promote the Paragon product to the general marketplace through product demonstrations, seminars, one to one meetings, exhibitions, meetings with partners etc
• Liaise with Paragon’s mapping, tracking and other partners in China
• Liaise with the Paragon team in the UK on sales opportunities & any commercial issues
• Coordinate sales/ commercial meetings for Paragon staff travelling from the UK as required
• Carry out any day-to-day office administration that is required
• Be a key point of contact for existing customers (HAVI, Linde, DHL)
• Feedback client information to the UK team as required
• Will involve travel across China and on occasion to the UK
• Some translation of marketing material into simplified Chinese
• Be alert to regulatory compliance requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

• Educated to degree level/ masters level ideally in technology/ science
• 5+ years of commercial experience
• A high level of commercial awareness
• Good organisational skills
• Some experience of the Logistics Industry would be an advantage
• Excellent PC skills – in particular Word, Excel and MS Powerpoint
• Excellent written and clear spoken English is essential
• Experience of working with UK companies would be an advantage
• Time spent in the UK would be an advantage
• Ability to deal confidently at all levels within an organisation up to the highest level
• Ability to present software / run meetings
• Candidate should have experience of presenting software products
• Self-motivated independent thinker, but also a team player
• The ability and desire to develop with the business as it grows.

The job holders will report administratively to CBBC’s office managers in Shanghai, and functionally will report to and be supported by Paragon Software Systems in the UK.
