Job Purpose
Primary purpose of the role – briefly describe in one or two sentences why the job exists:
This role, reporting to the Senior Manager, Major Projects, is responsible for providing expertise in Solution Design on Major Projects across Greater China. Engaging with customers and internal stakeholders, the primary objective of the role is designing and costing operationally viable supply chain solutions, across the entire contract logistics service offering, that meet the customer’s requirements and provide positive commercial outcomes for CEVA.
Key performance area and measurements
Main areas of focus and accountability of the role – detail in order of importance the main areas of accountability of the role:

15% Scoping of Customer Requirements Presentation of detailed and accurate scoping documents
30% Develop and cost solutions in conjunction with other Solution Design Managers and the Senior Manager, Major Projects Completion of all solution design work within agreed time frames and in line with company policies and standards.
15% Prepare and present proposals to customers and internal business units All written and verbal proposals to be professionally and accurately presented.
20% Work with KAMs and BD Managers to develop solutions for optimising current CL operations Completion of all agreed project tasks within agreed time frames and in line with company policies and standards.
10% Collecting and collating cost and operational data for use in the solution design resource model Use of current and accurate cost and operational data in all solution design functions.
10% Following agreed BD and wider CEVA company processes including correct use of C-View to log projects. 100% compliance to all company processes and policies

Teamwork ? Proactively contribute to broadening the knowledge pool of the Solution Design team
? Consult with other project team members to develop clear expectations of solution design outputs

Financial and Commercial Acumen ? Thoroughly understand the cost drivers that underpin each supply chain solution
? Understand the commercial impact of alternate solution design inputs
Logistics Solution Design ? Provide subject matter and technical expertise in the development of supply chain solutions
? Engage with customer and internal stakeholders to fully understand supply chain requirements
? Identify and question inconsistencies in data sets
? Conduct in-depth process mapping and data analysis and validate outcomes
? Calculate the physical resource requirements required to perform the proposed solution
? Translate the calculated resource requirements into a commercial cost model
? Thoroughly interrogate all solutions to ensure an in-depth understanding of what is proposed
? Consult subject matter experts in a timely manner to assist in solution development
? Identify synergies with existing CEVA contracts to maximise utilisation of resources, as well as productivity, margins etc.
Education & Qualifications ? Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering; or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of work experience
Knowledge & Skills ? Able to develop relationships with customers, in alliance with the Business Development Manager, focus on operational improvement and identify customer objectives, needs and hotspots, and thus opportunities for CEVA to propose improvement opportunities to the customer
? Able to take technical solutions and translate these into a format that the Business Development Manager can effectively discuss with the customer
? Able to evaluate technical solutions and their practical operational implications, and thus rate probable implementation effectiveness
? Able to evaluate technical solutions and their commercial impact
? Ability to identify and define risk elements of solutions and develop contingency plans
? Demonstrable understanding of logistics and supply chain management design principles, and demonstrates the ability to utilize this understanding in the sales process
Experience ? Previous Solutions/Operations/IE/Business Development Experience
? Strong, demonstrable solutioning skills, within all of the following areas:
1. Warehouse design
2. Transportation & Routing optimisation
3. Supply Chain Network study
? Advanced understanding of the logistics and supply chain requirements within one of the following market sectors:
1. Automobile
? Account Development experience
? Project Management experience
