1. Main purpose of the role
Authorized by MT as process owner of Value Engineering and DtX in the organization
Develop VE & DtX competency level of the organization, including VE training, identify key VE stakeholders, to implement and run the VE/DtX process in the organization.
Leverage internal resources and suppliers’ R&D/VE capability to deliver >6% VE savings in annual basis.
Involved in VPD – AA phase of key NPI project phase to implement VE/DtX from beginning.
Clarify and monitor VE savings in the VBM reporting and AOP/FCST reporting.
Organize VE/DtX workshop with Sector VE leader’s support.

2. Position in the organisation
The jobholder reports directly to head of Category PE in PLS Gr China.

3. Organisation context of role

a. Products/services:
The PLS Greater China is responsible for the portfolio definition, product development and manufacturing & sourcing of professional lighting fixtures sold in China, Hongkong and Taiwan, whilst also supply to ROA and EMEA/NA where required.

b. Position in value chain:
Main customers: Philips Lighting National Sales organations in (mainly) Greater China .
Main suppliers: varies China and oversea suppliers, etc.
Main competitors: Samsung, GE, OSRAM, various Chinese suppliers

c. Other relevant organisational aspects:
Involved in luminaire project development team to identify the most effective design module related to existing or new product development
Manage cost or value module database

Key areas of accountability
Responsible for

Realize luminaire cost and value module database
Product value-performance improvement
Document value engineering activities in SOP for future reference
Indicate the cost road map of luminaire focusing segments
Develop and implement improvement action plan, provide technical support and monitor the implementation to drive supplier's continuous improvement

KPI:
Deliver >6% VE/DtX savings which can be measured and reported in VBM
