JOB TITLE Intellectual Property ANALYST

REPORTING MANAGER GROUP MANAGER- IPA GROUP

Functional Competencies Required:
§ Technical
­ Searches literature and patents in own and closely related technical areas
­ Searches trademarks
­ Has good working knowledge of terminology applied in own technical field

§ Patent Legislation
­ Has extensive knowledge of patent documentation
­ Has basic knowledge of patent procedures and legal status
­ Has good knowledge of patentability and claim interpretation

§ Search Techniques and Databases (can be trained internally)
­ Has extensive knowledge of search tools, standard applications and patent and non-patent literature databases and trademark database
­ Is able to use the different search tools in the most cost effective way, without compromising on results
­ Is able to translate a search request into an effective search strategy

§ Customer Orientation
­ Actively investigates wishes and needs of clients
­ Showsunderstanding of the client’s business interests and take them into account in the analysis and advices

Experience: Overall experience of 3+ years

Qualification
­ Master Degree/ PhD in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, Computers, Biotechnology, Medical Electronics or Biomedical Engineering from a reputed institute
­ Post graduate or PhD in Physics or Biophysics from a reputed Institute

Skill set
­ Excellent knowledge of search processes and practices (Preferable, can be trained)
­ Excellent domain knowledge in the required area of excellence
­ Ability to carry out basic analysis, to deal with specific customer requirements
­ Should have good customer interaction skills
­ Should have good written communication skills
­ Excellent skills in English language (writing and speaking)

­ Ability to think independently
­ Ability to work on stretch targets and assignments
­ Ability to manage multiple priorities and produce results in a high-pressure environment
