SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:

The incumbent will primarily work within AP logistics team for the demand planning and distributor inventory planning for AP countries. Through a thorough understanding of customer service objectives and inventory performance metrics, he/she owns AP forecasting process and distributor inventory process (DMI or DMI lite), and will be responsible for developing and executing demand plan & distributor inventory plan to ensure consistent customer service levels while maintaining healthy inventory performance.

This position will work very closely with key stakeholders on RA supply chain, especially sales, marketing, market access, customer care, distributors, as well as logistics/supply planning teams in various AP countries.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1) Use SAP APO to develop monthly demand forecast for various AP countries. Review historical demand trends, de-spike outliers, use various statistical forecast models to re-generate forecast.

2) Work intensively with sales and marketing teams to understand demand drivers, coordinate cross-functional meetings/dialogues to reconcile demand variances, and make forecast adjustments based on a thorough understanding of changes in sales/inventory target and market trends.

3) Work with global/regional product managers in product life cycle management; generate plans for new product launch, product series change or material phase-out for AP countries.

4) Provide in-depth analysis to monitor and measure demand and inventory planning performance (forecast accuracy, target inventory level, etc.). Proactively seek and implement continuous improvement opportunities in demand and inventory planning process.

5) Use DMI/DMI lite to generate weekly inventory plan for RA distributors. Develop a complete understanding of the functionality of DMI/DMI lite system, and work with distributors, market access and country logistics team to review inventory planning parameters to establish appropriate distributor FG stock level in accordance with RA inventory strategy.

6) Mange DMI planning parameters, review and release DMI orders for non-SAP RA entities until all countries go live in SAP.

7) Work closely with DMI team, Datalliance, market access and country logistics in DMI/DMI lite expansion to AP distributors. Provide technical support to EDI users during and after implementation for EDI applications. Responds to inquiries and coordinates timely resolution of EDI issues related to DMI.

8) Review and analyze distributor scheduled return requests, make recommendation to management based on RA inventory return process/policy.

9) Ensure thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but are not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality, and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1) Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field.

2) Strong practical experience in forecasting, procurement and planning will be required. Direct working experience in SAP APO/ECC environment will be a distinct advantage.

3) Experience in extracting and analyzing data using information system reporting tools such as SAP BI, SQL, MS Access and MS Excel etc. This is a highly data intensive role and requires knowledge of statistics. The candidate must be comfortable in working with large amount of data for planning and reporting purposes.

4) Understands and demonstrates how to tie functional and operational demands and enabling technologies that can help drive quality process improvements for the business

5) Ability to communicate with various countries, functions, and business units and establish good and productive working relationships will be required.

6) Strong and independent trouble-shooting skills to investigate and identify causal.

7) APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) desirable

8) Proficiency in English is a must.
