Main Purpose

· This role will be responsible for supporting development of the low bake product portfolio for Rail & General Industrial segment by providing market feedback and requirements to technical and product organizations. The Product Specialist will evaluate test samples, benchmark competitive products, evaluate new application processes and train Axalta and distributor sales force on product use as part of launch plans.

Major Accountability

• Work with Sales and Marketing Team to identify gap in the product portfolio
• Develop business case for new or improved products
• Lead cross functional teams to execute improvements using gated development process
• Participate in RMA’s to quantify market opportunity and prioritize development plan
• Work with the Axalta CHINA Low Bake Team, Regional Product Resources to:
• Evaluate customer needs, develop proper product to meet customer needs
• Qualify test samples from production alignments based on applicator feedback
• Evaluate candidate products developed by the technical organization using disciplined attribute lists derived from benchmarking process
• Product Management
• Product lifecycle management, including product phase in/phase out
• OMP and AIBM process implementation;
• Product simplification and SKU management;
• Work with cross functions team during whole product lifecycle to insure the process are smoothly managed;
• Network with the Global Product and Technology organizations to leverage new product developments and key product learning from other regions to China where it is appropriate.

Qualifications

1. Coatings Technical background

2. 3-5 years of Coatings Technical Experience

3. Experience in the rail industrial coatings or general industrial coatings area is desirable

4. Ability to evaluate coatings using a disciplined process.

5. Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin are required
