POSITION DESCRIPTION
To implement in conjunction with the Asia Pacific Team, this candidate will work closely with the Asia Pacific Sales Teams as well as the Product Marketing Manager to maximise revenue of CLIENT product lines in Asia Pacific.



POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To assist in implementing the Asia Pacific commercial plan through:
    • Developing and agreeing customer/channel marketing strategy in line with sales, profit and market share (if applicable) targets.
    • Tailoring the Plan within the agreed guidelines for nominated customer/channels. The emphasis is on tailoring the promotion/support activities.
    • Developing and implementing promotional programs throughout Asia Pacific.
    • Assessing performance for nominated accounts/channels against promotion objectives and other accounts/channels.
    • Ensuring in conjunction with the relevant CLIENT marketing departments, all marketing materials are produced and dispatched.
    • Monitoring the performance for nominated accounts/channels within a consistent format, and ensuring that information is communicated to Contractor Equipment management.
    • Ensuring customers/channels expectations are met and visibility of CLIENT is increased.
  • To develop with the Asia Pacific Marketing Manager and Product Marketing Managers, where appropriate new product and campaign plans within the framework of the Asia Pacific planning cycle and obtain approval from the Sales & Marketing Director.
  • To develop relationship with nominated Asia Pacific customers/channels through:
    • Preparing and giving presentations
    • Contribution to the product range negotiation process
    • Ensuring the product line is listed and in line with the commercial plan.
  • To maintain contact with the sales force in order to:
    • Ensure the quality and appropriateness of demonstrations.
    • Gain first hand customer feedback.
    • Monitor the quality of the executions of events.
  • To contribute to the development of the commercial plan for nominated customers/channels by assessing suitable programs and identifying time scales considerations.
  • To contribute to the selection of product range by representing the interest of nominated customers/channels.
  • To commission work from approved suppliers to carry out tasks within pre-agreed budget and specifications, to ensure a consistent corporate image.
  • To ensure in co-operation with Sales Management Team that customer/channel knowledge is up to date in order to appropriately position all trade-marketing activities.
  • To ensure that any actions taken do not jeopardise the trade marketing position of any other customer/channel, both in Asia Pacific area and/or in any other area.
  • To keep working knowledge of nominated customers/channels and assigned product group knowledge of competitor products/activities up to date through market research to:
    • Ensure customer/channel presentations highlight CLIENT's relative strengths.
    • Assess effectiveness of competitor actions.
  • To feel responsible for the achievement of all profit/margin forecasts.
  • To ensure that the Asia Pacific in-store execution, advertising etc. is in line with the global strategy.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, marketing, technical field or equivalent, MBA would be a plus but not a must
  • 10years' minimum Marketing experience encompassing all aspects from developing promotion plans through to understanding the financial implications of work undertaken, with a working knowledge of the Marketing Mix.
  • Ability to effectively develop and implement sales/marketing strategies and initiatives both short and long term.
  • Commercial awareness to understand the implications of agreements reached with nominated customers/channels.
  • PC literate
  • Initiative to develop solutions to problems/issues.
  • Effective team working.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of industrial products and markets and / or paint industry.
  • Decision-making, planning and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals at all organized levels both internal and external.
  • Ability to work successfully without close supervision.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Asia Pacific 20-30% of the time.
  • Technical background would be preferred but not a must
