BASIC FUNCTION

Manage new product introduction, supervise manufacturing and industrial engineering support to the shop floor, head up production equipment specification and commissioning and provide leadership or technical support to major improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Build up Plastics & Shower manufacturing engineering capabilities to support faster business growth.
2. Supervise specification and commissioning of all manufacturing equipment.
3. Supervise design, manufacturing, purchase and management of tooling, fixtures and all production auxiliary tools and equipment.
4. Supervise creation and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency of product quality.
5. Responsible for all industrial engineering related work, such as process layout, material handling, standard routing and standard costing.
6. Responsible for all manufacturing engineering work related to new product development.
7. Responsible for driving improvement projects related to product quality as a result of customer complaints.
8. Actively participate in internal and external audits of quality, EHS and maintenance systems.
9. Communicate effectively with other departments and resolve cross-departmental issues from the view of the customer and the company’s overall interests.
10. Coach and develop associates in the department for better performance as well as associates’ personal growth and development.
11. Drive continuous improvement activities within the department in safety, quality, delivery, cost and employee satisfaction.

Reports to: Deputy General Manager, Plastics & Shower
Reported by: Manufacturing Engineers
Internal Business Relationships: Frequent contact with Production, Materials, Purchasing, QA, Mfg. Engineering-NPD, Facility and Maintenance, Finance, HR & Admin
External Business Relationships: Frequent contact with Kohler Development Engineering in France and USA
Occasional contact with Kohler China Marketing
Occasional contact with suppliers

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related filed
2. Minimum 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience in plastics and showering products manufacturing environment, minimum 5 years management experience
3. Good at usage of computer and CAD system
4. Good capability of English speaking, listening, reading and writing kills
5. Self-directive and good skills in employee coaching and teamwork
