PURPOSE目的

To strengthen LED chip design and packaging competency for LED Modules product development.

· Job holder work with several competences needed for LED engine development:
- TPL (Technical Project Leader), responsible for the technical project management
- Thermal Engineer, responsible for the thermal design and developments
- System Engineer, responsible for setting up LED Modules system models, identifying LED interface leveraging opportunities and support in defining LED platforms.
- Optical Engineer, responsible for the optical design and developments of primary optics as well as supporting customers’ secondary optical design
- Materials (phosphor, bonding, substrate, glue) Engineer, responsible for novel materials developments as well as improvement in reliability through materials improvement
- Mechanical Engineer, responsible for mechanical integration of LED package and LED modules, LED PCB into total mechanical design.
- Assistants, several activities

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES主要工作职责

- Work as part of the product team to release LED packages in LED systems application.
- Steer roadmap and support improvement of roadmap process
- Owner of LED engine cost and performance roadmap for LED modules application.
- Follow right procedures, and ensuring that the right documents and wow are in place.
- Coaching and competence build up
- Participate together with LSI in the front end LED related activities:
o Predevelopment of LED architecture and technology building blocks.
o Translate LED system lighting solution requirements to LED architectures.
o Catalyze innovations in LED chip designs, packaging and material science to achieve cost and performance roadmap.
o Lead technology breakthrough development projects relevant for LED modules from initial idea to implementation and materialize innovations.


MAJOR CHALLENGES主要挑战

- Define technology building blocks that enable improvement in LED performance at the same time driving down cost.
- Minimize product’s time to market while putting reliability as the top priority as tight launch schedule is a norm.
- Balance innovation and manufacturability
- Cross functional leadership


JOB REQUIREMENTS岗位要求

a) Education
- PhD/MSc in areas related to optoelectronics (i.e. materials science, electrical engineering) with extensive background knowledge
- Quantum physics
- Solid state devices and physics.
- Inorganic materials
- Polymer science

b) Experience: 5+ years of experience in LED and/or semiconductor chip and/or packaging

c) Travel Frequency出差频率:
25% - 50%


d) Competency and Skills 能力和技能:
- Familiar with optical, electrical, and thermo-mechanical issues that are relevant to quality and reliability of LED Lighting products.
- Strong leadership & inter-personal skills. Ability to drive in a cross-functional & global environment.
- Good command in English (oral and written) is a must.
