Senior application engineer (electronics) and LED system engineer

Philips automotive lighting application development center APR Shanghai is established in 2008 with special focus of providing automotive lighting system solutions to major car manufactures in Asia pacific region. One major goal of application center APR Shanghai is to create green and stylish automotive lighting solutions based on high performance LED. To secure our technology and market leadership in fast growing APR automotive industries, we are looking for an excellent electronics expert as senior application engineer and LED module system engineer to further extend our technology competence and to develop close relationship with major automotive customers in APR.

Job description:
As a senior application engineer (electronics) and LED driver/module system engineer you will work in a young and creative technical team and be responsible for:
Proposing of LED driver & module concepts based on innovative automotive LED sources
Developing LED driver and module reference design including system layout, simulation, cost and reliability analysis
Verification of LED driver and module design by prototyping and experimental characterizations
Managing schedule and deliveries of LED driver/module projects which involve both internal teams and external suppliers
To participate in and initiate collaborative projects within an international team environment with interactions to research, development, application, marketing and customers
Take lead to deliver fast responding and high quality PCB, driver and module design supports to internal and external customers
Present LED driver and module reference design to key automotive customers in APR and revise design according to customer feedback
To solve technical problems related to LED driver and modules for automotive frontlighting and signaling functions
Your profile:
B.S or master engineering degree in electronics, instrumentation, automation or physics
Strong background in one of following fields: LED, PCB, driver design, LED module development, prototyping, industrial process (packaging, assembly), outsourcing and thermal management of LED system
At least 3 year work experience with electronics design tools (Protel, Altium, etc.)
Good knowledge in linear driver, constant current driver and DC-DC converter as well as LED module development
Familiar with PCB, LED driver and module prototyping and production process
Work experience in LED, automotive lighting, electronics or semiconductor industry
Practical experience in outsourcing and project management with external suppliers preferred
Fluent in English, very good in both writing and speaking
Good presentation and communication skills with strong focus on customers
Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic work environment and to strive for solid results by collaboration with colleagues from different background
Good skill in time management and project prioritization
Ability to quickly learn new knowledge and to make own contributions within a short period of time
