GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Application Engineer is the lead engineering contact and works together with the Account Manager to provide the necessary service to the customer. The business situation and individual skills may dictate the method of meeting these responsibilities, but the end result will always be superior customer service and the advancement of the business. The Application Engineer is responsible for performing the necessary job functions needed to fully support customer projects.

? The Application Engineer is responsible to work with customer and different internal depatments to meet customer requirements. This work includes APQP, Part Design, Verification and Validation Testing. Failure Analysis, etc
? Actively participate in achieving corporate and divisional goals and objectives as to quality, cost, profit, return on sales, productivity, and customer service, adherence to budget goals.
? Work with global team to meet customer requirements.
? Communicate customer test requirements and publish customer test reports.
? As leader, initiate and perform tasks for the APQP process.
? Initiate analysis on returned product for failure mode and report results to the customer.
? Participate in the Request for Quote (RFQ) and Sample Order (SO) processes.
? Work with manufacturing facility to assure manufacturability of design.
? Travel as required to support the customer and to support/develop new opportunities.
? Communicate the changing needs of the marketplace to assist in the development of new products and materials.
? Share knowledge with other Application Engineers and Account Managers.
? Participate and contribute to Product Focus Teams objectives.
? Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
? Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in internal combustion or mechanical engineering.
? >5-7 years related working experience in gasoline engine development, combustion calibration experience is superior.
? Have the ability to conceptualize new designs and concepts.
? Have a proficient knowledge of internal and customer systems and how to use them to benefit the business.
? Have the ability to perform detailed customer presentations.
? Have the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects concurrently.
? Have the ability to evaluate the business issues and prioritizes activities.

? Driving to completion of all required skills and training requirements.
? Good English communication skill both in writing and oral.
? Have a proficient knowledge of internal and customer systems and how to use them to benefit the business.
