Job Summary and Mission
This job contributesto Starbucks successby providing leadership instore development demand planning,procurementand development activities,inventory management, and compliance and performance solutions fora defined range of material categories related to a material; resultingin the right material in the right place at the right time at the right cost.Accountable for optimal storedevelopment forecasting andinventory management. Manages cross companyinterfaces and coordinationto ensure that complianceand performance metrics are achieved within materialdisciplines. Is the business partners?primary point of contact for development, sourcing and inventory management. Models and actsin accordance with Starbucks guidingprinciples.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilitiesand essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Applies knowledgeof store development design, construction and renovations operations to ensure accurateand timely decisions in order to support the efficient management of material supplyand coordination and communication of supply chain activities to support the endcustomer.
- Collaborateswith business partners and customers to develop inventory strategies that supportcompany financial targets. Communicates opportunities and risks to managementon a proactive basis.
- Collaborateswith the customer to establish key performance indicators, measures and communicatesresults. Initiate regular face-to-face contact with customer group(s) to ensurealignment on strategies and progress.
- Defines keystrategies and creates synergies across other company businesses and customergroups to advance the material and services supply vision.
Manages the development,sustainment and storage of material specifications to ensure successful global sourcingof products that meet Starbucks Coffee Company business needs an performappropriately under Starbucks Coffee Company store use conditions. Ensure LEED objectivesare communicated clearly to enable global implementation
- Develops inventoryassessments. Proactively communicates inventory concerns
and quantifiesand communicates the impacts of back- orders/stock out. Develops and executes recoveryplan. Supports the development and executes multiple localized inventory strategiesto deliver appropriate inventory in-stock and service levels.
- Develops,supports and analyzes the supplier and provider performance measurements. Developsrecommendations for reducing costs and improving quality and service. Championsideas and opportunities for cost reduction, including review and action by a cross-functionalgroup of stakeholders.
- Ensures appropriateteam member representation on cross-functional projects, which may relate tocustomer objectives and process improvement
- Executes andsupports strategic plan locally for key initiatives that increase efficiencyand sustain company growth. Develops relationships with other supply chainteams to ensure cohesive supply chain strategies and implementations that supportglobal store development goals
- Managesstrategic supplier/provider relationships to ensure a consistent source of supplywhile meeting all schedule, service and quality requirements. Manages strategicrelationships to support overall business requirements.
- Prepares,communicates and educates client groups and team on changes in policies and practiceswithin the organization.
- Providestechnical leadership to team members and internal customers by ensuring thatthe general approach to projects is sound, incorporating cost, quality, service,and Starbucks values considerations.
- Supports thedevelopment and enhancement of material supply processes and procedures including:supplier performance, procurement, demand and inventory management, replenishment,and logistics. Makes continuous improvements in costs, lead times and inventorystrategies.
- Supports theimplementation, optimization, and utilization of tools and technology formaterial supply activities, including: procurement, demand and inventory management,replenishment, and logistics.
- Uses problem-solvingand analysis to assess the financial and strategic impact of businessinitiatives. Assesses critical information required to make effective decisionsor recommendations for process changes.
- Works with assignedcorporate material manager to ensure team goals support departmental and companygoals are accomplished on time and under budget.
Summary of Experience
- Progressiveexperience instrategic sourcing, material management and/or in a procurement environment. ----- 5years
- Experience supportingstore development and construction initiatives ----- 3 years
- Large retailer,restaurant or QSR experience ----- 3years
- Progressiveexperience managing supplychain planning, forecasting andinventory managementin a high-growth, dynamic organization ----- 3years
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge ofbusiness principles from multiple disciplines
- Ability toquickly identify ongoing process improvement opportunities across supply chainoperations and identify and develop solutions
- Ability toset priorities, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced andchanging environment
