POSITION SUMMARY

Purpose

To design, build, test and deploy reporting and analytical solutions in support of Air Products global business operations and planning processes.

Nature and Scope

Working as part of a global Business Intelligence solutions team, the BI Developer will be expected to work directly under the supervision of the BI Solutions Manager. The Developer will follow standard Air Products practices and processes, will be expected to contribute effectively to the team environment, and will carry out assigned tasks on time and to the required quality. Assignments will vary from small individual tasks such as creation of a report to participation in large multi-disciplinary team projects such as building a new cube and associated reports. Area of development will include, but are not limited to, SAP Business Warehouse (Modeling, Administration, BEx), ABAP, SAP Business Objects (Web Intelligence, Dashboards, Information Design Tool), SAP Data Services (Data Integrator, Data Quality), and MS SQL Server.

Programs Supported – All New BI Solutions ($2-4MM annual spend)


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Design, code, test, and document new or modified BI systems, applications, reports and programs using SAP Business Objects and BW
2. Develop ETL processes and programs to support new BI solutions using SAP Data Services, BW, and UC4
3. Develop semantic layer, universes and Information spaces in SAP Business Objects
4. Develop test cases and plans, and assist with testing of new solutions
5. Transition completed solutions to BI Support team providing all necessary documentation and knowledge transfer.
6. Work closely with business subject matter experts to understand issues and enhancement requests related to BI solutions
7. Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with BI solutions
8. Coordinate and prioritize individual tasks and requests to ensure timely delivery
9. Follow prescribed development life cycle and meet all quality standards
10. Function as a technical expert for escalation from BI support team as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. College Degree required; Bachelors Degree in Information Technology field, related technical discipline preferred.
2. 3 -6 years experience working in Business Intelligence field
3. Knowledge in fundamental concepts and practices of Business Intelligence, OLAP, data warehouse design, including multidimensional and relational reporting and analysis
4. 3-5 years hands-on experience in SAP BW implementation
5. ABAP experience in BW a plus
6. 2+ years experience with SAP Business Objects (Web Intelligence, Information Design Tool, Data Services)
7. 2+ years experience with MS SQL Server Development
8. Knowledge of SAP/ERP ECC 6.0 functional areas FI,MM,PP,SD a plus
9. Prior multicultural experience a plus
10. Demonstrated track record of successful task and/or project delivery
11. Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem solving skills
12. Strong oral and written communications skills.
13. Experience working in a team-oriented, globally collaborative environment.
