POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinate and manage the activities required to meet corporate quality targets and objectives; monitor and advise Senior Leadership Team on the performance of the quality management system in North American plants; produce data and reports on performance. This position interfaces with other managers and staff throughout the North American organization to ensure that the quality system is functioning properly in all plants. Where appropriate, the quality manager provides training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
2. Bring together staff of different disciplines and drive the group to formulate, agree upon and implement comprehensive quality improvement plans, especially in underperforming plants.
3. Influence and persuade reluctant management and/or staff to change their way of working to incorporate global quality standards and best practices.
4. Promote quality performance improvement throughout the organization.
5. Ensure adherence to Global Quality Standards via on-site assessments in all (13) North American plants.
6. Create, implement, communicate and maintain a plan to bring Corporate Quality Systems and Policies into compliance with ISO/TS16949 quality system requirements.
7. Interact with Plant Quality, Production Operations and Product Development teams to meet or exceed internal and external customer quality performance targets.
8. Coach and mentor plant staff where required in the proper and effective use of Process Control Plans, Process PFMEA’s, Problem Solving Methods and other Process Control and Quality tools.
9. Work with cross-functional teams to solve technical issues.
10. Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management system (TS 16949).
11. Track and maintain data analysis of key metrics and performance data as it relates to Global Quality results.
12. Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
13. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MANAGERIAL / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
Oversee a team of APQP Engineers working on new programs in North America.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Strong leader with effective written and verbal communication skills who will drive processes and resolve issues.
2. Minimum five (5) years work experience required in Manufacturing/Quality environment.
3. Ideal candidate will have at least three years of hands-on, plant-floor experience in a Quality Engineer and Operations Supervisor capacity in a machining and assembly environment.
4. Business or Technical Bachelor’s degree required.
5. Working knowledge of Process Control Plan development and implementation at plant floor level.
6. High level of analytical ability; comprehensive understanding of Quality systems, tools and Manufacturing processes.
7. Strong quality mindset with working knowledge of statistical process control and process capability statistics.
8. Demonstrated problem solving skills; i.e., 5 Why Analysis, 8 Discipline Approach, Shainin, etc…
9. Intermediate or Advanced knowledge of GD&T.
10. Solid understanding of assembly and machining processes.
11. Ability to multi-task and deliver results in high-pressure environment.
12. Proficient in data collection, analysis and presentation.
13. Excellent computer skills required. Proficient with MS Office suite, web-based and database applications.
14. Ability to work with others in a team environment.
15. Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
