Software Design Engineer in Test(测试工程师赴微软）

Microsoft’s Hardware Software Test Team is looking for an experienced Software Design Engineer in Test. The candidate will execute manual and automated tests validating deployment of software for the Microsoft Surface device, create and maintain test automation, report defects and communicate the results of test passes. The individual will have to work closely with DVEs, MTEs, PM’s, other Redmond based testers. In this position the individual will need to learn certain relevant Windows technologies and be able to understand how those impact the test area. The main test methodology used will be black box and grey box testing. Other responsibilities may include updating test plan documentation, creating test cases, executing test cases, debugging test automation and test case failures.

Requirements:

Required:

Minimum 4+ years of test experience including test planning, test design, feature owner ship and test pass organization.

Minimum 2+ years’ experience of testing and getting operating system (Windows, Linus, Mac, or other) working on new hardware platform (PC, laptop, tablet, or other).

Good understanding on Windows operation system architecture.

Test automation design and development experience is required

Good English communication skill both oral and written required

B.S. Computer Science

Able to work independently and solve problem on own.

International and domestic Travel will be required.

Optional:

Windows driver test experience is a plus

Hardware/firmware experience is a plus

Build Test Capability As Needed

Where it makes sense, build in house test capability.

SW builds

Ensure correct SW build is used for manufacturing and for testing.

Provide testing to verify deployment of Image updates and new Image SKUs is correct and resulting units have a correct Windows experience

Learn provisioning testing currently done by the Redmond team and assume ownership for that test execution

Learn basic debugging for common errors

Learn how to capture files required for creation of PBR keys and assume ownership for this task after each image update, or new SKU release

Help verify MTE script changes do not introduce bugs to the final provisioned units; main testing of MTE scripts owned by MTE

Build Support

Motherboard debug and bring up including SW.

Liaison between T1 and Redmond DVE-SDET team

MTE support at factory

Learn tools developed in Redmond and support them at factory
