BASIC OBJECTIVE
Specific Job Content: This individual should demonstrate good communication, organizational, and coordination skills. The ability to identify process re-design and improvement opportunities and effectively communicate those ideas to other team members is required. The candidate will support the Company’s core competencies of Build Trust, Drive Continuous Improvement, Focus on the End Customer, and Set High Standards of Performance.
This position will serve as an initial point of contact for HR users in the AsiaPac region but at the same time, will be an extension of the US HR IT Team. They will have primary responsibility for the day to day support of various Corporate Human Resource applications with a focus on core SAP HR master data functionality and processes. In addition, this individual will initially provide backup support to other Analysts on the team, eventually taking a lead role where appropriate. Daily activities may include system configuration, program specifications and troubleshooting. This person will also assist with and implement system enhancements as requested by our internal customers, globally.
Ideally, the candidate should be familiar with and have prior experience working with Human Resource applications. An SAP HR background is ideal and knowledge of global associate management is a plus.
General Objective: Assist in the design, implementation and maintenance of computer systems and programs. Prepare systems and program specifications, test criteria and project control. Create software through coding and/or configuring. Develop and monitor policies, procedures and standards documents. Gain proficiency that enables 24 x 7 on-call support of systems. Write and execute scripts to control the execution of systems. Develop and coordinate the installation and maintenance of systems and program products. Operate under general direction. Works with user management and user project leader to determine system objectives and solutions. Some latitude for independent actions and decision. Most often personnel in this position receive an assignment as a member of the systems team for a specific significant major project. Personnel in this position may be assigned as the systems project leader for a specific systems project.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Functional Skills:
1. Develop detail system and program specifications. Develop system documentation and user procedures. Prepare test data. Coordinate/perform system and program testing. Coordinate/perform system and program implementation and modification. Research systems and programs to determine causes of failure or poor operational performance; then define, test and implement detailed solutions.
2. Assist in providing inputs for project review meetings and management presentations, including general design review, project scheduling, test plan, system and program tactics and methods, system controls, procedures, documentation, and system implementation plan.
3. Comply with systems development standards, procedures, guidelines, priorities, and schedules.
4. Provide analysis, counsel, and direction to personnel of operating units to analyze problems and develop solutions, as well as assure efficient operation of existing systems and programs. Maintain an understanding of business processes and the implications of computer systems on these processes.
5. Assist or solely direct, schedule, and coordinate the efforts of IT user and vendor personnel assigned to a specific systems project.
6. Prepare and publish systems project status reports.
7. Provide spirited, positive leadership when working on systems projects. Challenge obsolete practices; question accepted truths. Develop practical systems scope that enhances the business function. Control the project scope, resources, and quality within budget and schedule to meet objectives.
8. Participate in educational programs and professional societies involving analysis, leadership skills, and computing technology.
9. Conduct educational programs involving company personnel relating to specific projects.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Supervisor Relationships:
1. Reports solid line to ASSOC MGR-PP/GP/HR/PDM, ASPAC CORP SERV Assoc Mgr-PP/GP/HR/PDM (Shanghai) and dotted line to Systems Project Manager-HR (Kohler, WI).
2. When working on systems projects, direction and technical guidance are given to equal and lower level classifications within systems and user organizations.
Organization Relationships:
1. Frequent contact with all levels of personnel in departments for whom systems have been installed or are being implemented.
2. Frequent contact with other Corporate Information Technology departments.
External Business Relationships
1. Contact with vendors of computing hardware and software.
2. Contact with other companies to research and evaluate computing technologies in use for Kohler Co. potential application.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelors degree in Information Technology or related field preferred. Under some circumstances Associate Degree in Information Technology and minimum 3 years experience will be accepted.
2. 2 - 4 years systems and programming experience.
3. The ability to read, write and speak English is required. The ability to read, write and speak Thai is a strong plus.
