Purpose

To provide and maintain daily accounting service for intercompany transaction in Asia, to ensure global intercompany policy & procedure in place, and follow the local regulation requirements as well.

Nature and Scope

The job holder is as the technician of Intercompany Accounting under Asia Accounting & Transaction Service (ATS) Center and report directly to the Manager of Asia Intercompany transactions.

In Asia, there are over 50 legal entities and intercompany transactions are widely used to support business growth in the region. The intercompany transaction includes sales of equipment and shared service and liquid products as well. Of which, intercompany cross charge for engineering cost, regional shared service center/individual are the key transaction handled by Asia intercompany team.

Primary customers are all legal entities in Asia countries including Korea, China, Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.

The primary responsibility is to provide and maintain the certain level of service for the daily operation of intercompany transactions for those in scope legal entities across Asia region. To establish and complete the intercompany transactions through intercompany billing and booking of intercompany receivable and payable invoices to comply with US/Local GAAP requirements.

The incumbent also needs to participant the efforts for intercompany transaction process and practice improvement towards continuous improvement in the Company’s General Admin & Accounting Practices to achieve the company or team’s objectives.

The incumbent should be as basic professional and proficiency in intercompany accounting, with certain level of experience and knowledge on US/local GAAP and relevant SAP system knowledge to perform this job. The incumbent also needs to work as Expert in the area of intercompany transaction & accounting in the Asia region. Being the contact window for the specific country that are covered, acts to answer relevant inquiries and resolve issues or disputes to strengthen the financial and operational controls in Asia and meet SOX or audit requirements.

There is no reporting to the job holder.

Key Contacts will include regional business Managers, Engineering/project team, Manufacturing /plant manager, Treasury, Controllership (ATS Field Finance/ BDS) and regional/corporate Law / Tax department.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. All intercompany transactions and activities are booked timely and accurately, including but not limited to:
a. Intercompany A/R billing and receivable
b. Intercompany A/P booking and payments, including in house cash
c. Internal order and cross charge transactions

2. Participate monthly closing activities and support the Global/regional consolidation team with elimination & global imbalances.

3. Prepare monthly intercompany account reconciliations and follow up outstanding issues.

4. Take training around tools and practices to optimize total process efficiency in accordance with corporate and business objectives. Implement common accounting policies, procedures, and work practices as required.

5. Work with participating functions to implement process performance measures to ensure continued process effectiveness and efficiency.

6. Ensure adequate internal accounting and operating controls are in place to safeguard Company Assets, provide accurate financial information for management decision making.

7. Strictly follow local and US GAAP policies and practice for accounting treatment. Solve the issues occurred during daily work and feedback to the queries from the parties concerned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. The incumbent is expected to have Diploma in Financial Accounting. It is an added advantage if incumbent has a qualification in Accounting or business management.

2. Job Incumbent is expected to have 2-3 years work experience in financial accounting area and proficiency in Intercompany Accounting with certain experience built on general accounting and application knowledge. An understanding of Air Products business and systems will be plus.

3. The incumbent also needs to have good interpersonal and communication skills, independent initiative, planning and organizing, and a proven ability to effectively solve the problems in the daily operation.

4. Accounting application Skills with the analytical and systems understanding skills are also required
