Establishes localized initiatives and action plans that protect the Eaton Brand and Santak Brand Image, intellectual property, sales revenues, margins, and customer safety for PQD of Eaton’s Electrical Sector and actively identifies and implements plans to stop counterfeit, gray market, and unethical sales practices estimated annually.
Responsibilities:
A. Develop and coordinate strategic marketing plan with the appropriate product line for the Brand Protection activities in an effort to reduce lost sales and margins by interdicting annually in illicit market activities.
B. Analyzes sales, market trends and conditions to identify opportunities and threats to the Eaton brand from counterfeit products or diversion (gray market) and takes action to minimize impact.
C. Consults with Eaton trademark and patent counsel and general counsel in matters of intellectual property infringement and enforcement including cease and desist actions.
D. Evaluates, recommends, and implements new technologies and manufacturing techniques to improve brand protection or intellectual property enforcement and reduce counterfeiting of Eaton brand products.
E. Coordinates brand protection activities across sales and marketing personnel, product divisions, and manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure consistent and cost effective brand protection.
F. Lead development activities around sales, marketing, and training materials that communicate Eaton’s brand protection initiatives while building brand awareness.
G. Lead and facilitate training for customers, channel, sales, marketing, supply chain, manufacturing, and law enforcement on Eaton & Santak’s strategy for brand protection.
H. Conducts proactive market surveys to identify sources of diversion, or potential resellers of counterfeit Eaton brand products, and takes appropriate action to minimize impact to Eaton.
I. Represents Eaton and the electrical industry when collaborating with market applicable industry organizations such as AIC, China att315, TLC, PTPIC and champions campaigns to raise awareness of counterfeit products and actions required to reduce risk to the consumer.
J. Drive alignment within the product development cycle to incorporate brand protection initiatives that are coordinated across PQ China to ensure consistency and leverage Eaton’s Global Operational Footprint as it relates to product management, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and operational excellence.
H. Executes, manages and administers channel programs (Co-op funding/MDF). Rewards, motivates authorized channel partners to do business right, through various incentive programs and ensure such individual partners carry out proper Eaton/Santak corporate branding.
Qualifications:
1.Requires a high level of collaboration with many levels of sales, marketing, and manufacturing management to influence and direct 2. positive outcome to brand protection.
3.Eaton branding and labeling, component manufacturing, aftermarket, intellectual property, pricing, channel, international sales and distribution, independent reseller market, Eaton information systems such as Siebel, Oracle, SAP, E-payment, etc…)
4.Knowledge of Eaton domestic and international selling policies and channels in collaboration with regional Eaton sales management, marketing, and leadership teams.
5.Knowledge or experience of intellectual property law with a high level of interaction with Eaton corporate trademarks and patent counsel as well as Electrical Sector counsel.
6.Ability to authenticate or verify genuine Eaton component products and assemblies.
7.Describe all other aspects of your position that you feel are important and which have not been adequately covered (i.e. unique problems encountered, special freedom to take action, critical outside contacts, exceptional working conditions etc.)
Intimate knowledge of the independent reseller channels (gray market) is recommended.
8.Strong networking with industry partners and associations such as AIC, China att315, TLC, PTPIC, as well as others that represent the collaboration of the Power Quality (electrical industry) against counterfeiting.
9.Engagement with China law enforcement as required promoting the detection of counterfeit Eaton /Santak branded products. Support the communications, evidence gathering and authentication in criminal investigations when working with law enforcement including contacts in government.
10.Sensitivity to channel partners and customers when investigating cases of potential diversion, unethical behavior, or counterfeiting.
11.Sensitivity to other cultures when developing counterfeit or gray market programs or communicating the impact of counterfeit and gray market products.
12.Experience with Web based collaboration and communications tools including intranet, extranet and the public internet website.
13.Must be capable of assessing and understanding risks when physically present while conducting or witnessing raids on illicit facilities independently or in coordination with law enforcement or administrative authorities.
