Job Description
The Product Engineering Assistant Program Manager (PE-APM) will report to the PE Technical Program Manager (PE-TPM) and will manage factory technician and engineering staff related to Debug, Repair, Quarantine, and Failure Analysis (FA) activities. A successful applicant will be expected to collaborate across the organization with such groups as Quality, Factory Management, Reliability, Test, and Process Engineering teams. In addition, the candidate will create reports, manage an issue database, report status, and explain root cause results of current issues to MS management, and drive corrective actions through the factory.
Core Responsibilities
? Be the front line contact and owner of all Repair and FA activities on the production floor.
? Organize and track factory FA investigations and drive to root cause and corrective actions.
? Investigate top fails and provide corrective action to improve production yield.
? Interface with Reliability team and report failed unit FA results.
? Manage factory quarantine and Repair flow and create Repair SOP documents.
? Confirm factory training and certification for Repair and FA personnel.
? Train personnel on problem solving techniques (fishbone, 5c, etc.) for continuous improvement.
? Interface with Quality team for accurate reporting and corrective actions of Visual Inspection (VI) fails.
? Report production metrics, Repair activities, and FA investigation findings on a daily and weekly summary basis.
Expertise and Experience
The successful candidate should have significant experience / expertise in many of the following areas:
? Strong and demanding presence on the factory floor to manage factory resources.
? Detail oriented in documentation, reporting, and manufacturing metrics.
? Program / Project management experience.
? Outsourced manufacturing management experience.
? Experience working with engineers and product development professionals.
? Experience with FA, Repair, and engineering activities.
? High volume consumer electronics manufacturing knowledge.
? Possess a well-rounded technical skill set to understand mechanical, process, electronics problem solving.
In addition, the successful candidate will need to have the following attributes:
? Strong communications skills
o Fluent Mandarin speaking / reading/ writing for factory communication.
o Strong English reading/writing skills required for report writing.
o Good English verbal skills for MS management discussions.

Education and Experience
Candidates should possess a BA/BS, or technical degree in a related field, experience in working in the factory environment, a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated work experience and in-depth understanding of the technologies specific to consumer electronics are considered significant plusses.
