Acoustic Engineer

Job description:

The candidate will serve as the acoustic engineer role for development of music headset and chat headset.

Translate product requirements into acoustic design options

Select, specify, and evaluate transducers and microphone as necessary

Evaluate design options through comprehensive computer modeling and extensive measurements and critical listening on physical prototypes.

Closely cooperate with ME and EE engineers to select the best design for the product.

Support manufacturing startup and continuous engineering

Participate in design reviews related to design and performance matrix. Communicating product performance information to a broader cross-functional development team.

Candidate should be fluent in spoken and written English and possess good communication skills.

Manage suppliers for their deliverables to meet project target, and follow the technology trend for future development.

Proven ability to work well with worldwide teams and across technical, business and marketing groups is required.

Requirements:

BS or MS (preferred) degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related degree with relevant experience

5+ years of direct product development experience

Deep understanding of speaker and chamber design for headset, including in-ear, on-the-ear and over-the-ear

Deep understanding of microphone enclosure design for headset and speakerphone product

Proven track record of designing high quality audio products

Methodical and scientific approach to any technical problem

Familiar in at least one acoustic computer modeling tool (e.g. Pspice, LMS, etc.)

Familiar in at least one computer based acoustic measurement system (Audio Precision, Sound check, d-Scope, etc.)

Excellent verbal & written communication skills, comfortable with reading and writing detailed technical specifications

Passion for sound quality

Critical listening skills, experience with formal listening experiments

Willingness to innovate and stretch the envelope of the current state of the art

Experience with contract manufacturing.

Knowledge of audio Digital Signal Processing is a plus

Knowledge of electronic amplifier design, behavior and constraints is a plus

Experience tuning signal processing to optimize system audio performance is a plus
