1．PURPOSE

The main contribution of this position is to lead the Development Quality team, and manage the team in product reliability design and test activities, to assure that reliability and lifetime requirements are managed and realised in Product Development projects from concept phase to market introduction.



3. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Act as a team leader & subject matter expert in Development Quality, and plays a key role in LSI product design programs;
· Has strong leadership to lead the team by followings :
o Influencing business direction: identify business and individual motivators, using these to build a compelling case; understand and use the formal and informal organization; influence the strategic agenda.
o Showing determination to achieve excellent results: take accountability for the achievement of results and showing determination to win in order to achieve the vision.
o Focusing on market: understand the customer and see what the market needs.
o Finding better way: improve or optimize the effectiveness and efficiency in cooperation with others.

o Identifying & developing talents to raise the capability and capacity of the organization.
· Supervise & support the team to make sure that they execute and perform reliability functions;
· Maintain a network of Philips Lighting competence center contact persons in the field of LED Lighting, i.e. the reliability council in Europe and the USA;
· Translating in an early stage of development, lifetime requirements into guidelines, design rules, material and technology choices to secure robust product functionalities;
· Setting up test procedures and simulation models, to shorten the evaluation test times of new concepts and materials and to enable faster innovation cycles;
· Setting up End of Life Prognostics: Identifying potential failure modes, potential failure causes, potential failure mechanics and failure models and selecting approaches for making remaining useful lifetime predictions;
· Setting up methods and tools to create a broad database with life time information of all relevant building blocks for specific application platforms;
· Translating existing knowledge on lifetime of concepts, technologies, material within one application field towards other relevant application fields;
· Generating Intellectual Property, preferentially in the form of patent applications.


4. COMPETENCIES/JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Master or higher Degree in the area of physics, electronics and materials.
· 15+ years of experience in design for quality and reliability, e.g. derating, HALT and international reliability standards, e.g. MIL/IEC standards Experience with lighting and LEDs is a preferred.
· Proven track record to lead a development reliability competence team.
· Be familiar with reliability analysis tools, e.g. Reliasoft Weibull++ and ALTA
· Good at statistical analysis and reliability modeling
· Be familiar with electronic components and SMT process and qualification
· Be familiar with optical, electrical, and thermo-mechanical design requirement and realization
· Good command of the English language in both speaking and writing is a must.
· Good communication skill and team player
· Be good at problem solving and independent thinking
· Fast learn and willing to share
