Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Reports To: Engineering Group Leader
Responsibilities
This person will be responsible for mechanical engineering design of rotating machinery. Duties include:
· Motor/system design per customer requirements
· Stress, structural and thermal analyses of motors/components
· System design concept developments
· Project activity coordination
· Test and evaluate the system for compliance to customer specifications
· Product support
· Marketing and sales support
· Supplier evaluation and support
· Customer assistants for troubleshooting
This position will have a heavy emphasis on project management and the individual will be required to work closely with the commercial team, the project design team and the end customer. The candidate is expected to participate in concurrent programs involving 6 to 8 person engineering teams. A high degree of direct interaction with the customer is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. · BSME or MSME (preferred)
· 5 or more years experience with rotating machine design and development.
· Previous significant participation on project teams with evidence of high performance ratings.
· Prior experience with FEA and CFD tools for mechanical design.
· Prior experience with CAD (e.g., Pro/E) desired.
· Understanding of motor/generator manufacturing processes.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Self-motivated, creative, energetic.
· Ability to communicate technical information fluently in English, both orally and in writing.
