1. Mission Statement
· The position is responsible for managing all legal affairs and issues of E&C organization in the country, preparing & administering contracts/agreements (international and indigenous) with vendors, clients & Government and providing analysis & legal counsel on various matters that involve legal risks. The position shall ensure high standards of corporate governance by putting in place appropriate controls with respect to compliance.

2. Position in the Organization
Direct Supervisor: VP- Asia Zone, E&C
Peer Positions: The position has the following E&C peer positions (responsible for the respective functions of the E&C in the country):
Center Manager, Director – Technology, Director – Engineering, Director – Third Party Sales and Business Development, Director – Human Resources, Director – Procurement and Director – Manufacturing
Functional Supervisor: VP- Legal, E&C
Supervised Staff: Legal and Contract Administration Department Staff

3. Expected Competencies
Overall Work Experience:
· 15 to 20 years of experience in Legal Function with at least 3 years in a Head - Legal position in a mid-sized entity of an MNC.
· International import and export contracts and legal complications arising out of the above
· Prominent International laws for contracts such as Laws of Singapore and Switzerland; International Arbitration Procedures
Sales and Business Development:
· Willingly and actively supports sales function during contract selection and finalization by providing clear view of legal position & risks and providing recommendations/alternative solutions
· Has the ability to negotiate and utilize internal and external resources in order to reach win-win situations
Industrial:
· Demonstrates good understanding of industrial matters with an emphasis on safety and risk management
· Demonstrates ability to understand interrelations between different functions
Finance/Operations Control:
· Demonstrates strong understanding/knowledge of business
· Takes independent and objective position when and if needed
· Has strong understanding of compliance and control related matters and constantly seeks compliance
HSE
· Discusses/ Presents HSE matters with conviction
· Adheres to safety rules and procedures and leads other people into safety behaviour
