POSITION DESCRIPTION

1. REPORT TO: Asia Pacific Marketing Manager
2. PURPOSE OF JOB:
1. Having product line responsibility, the primary focus is to identify and communicate Asia Pacific product requirements, to ensure competitive and accurate positioning/pricing, and to develop/implement successful product launches.
2. Be the primary liaison with company personnel, distributors and end users regarding product line, application innovations and enhancement.
3. To support the profitable growth of company product sales in conjunction with corporate objectives and the annual business plan.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
JOB RESULT AREAS:

1. To give product marketing support to company sales personnel by liaising with potential customers in an innovative, knowledgeable and competitive way.
2. To supply specialist support to company personnel, distributors and end users so as to enhance company capability in achieving profitable growth and incremental market share.
3. To produce ethical and commercially correct promotion proposals with agreed time lines in conjunction with company corporate objectives and sales targets.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / DUTIES:

1. The formulation of appropriate product pricing/positioning, launch initiatives and promotional program, maximizing market penetration whilst maintaining expected margin and contribution.
2. To provide responsible forecast data on time so as to enable the relevant logistical/optional preparation and planning.
3. To provide product specific sales and marketing tools on time so as to enable the sales personnel to negotiate profitable product sales through customer perception of technical merit, capability and supplier preference.
4. To provide specialist back-up both at the enquiry stage and negotiation stage, to secure sales.
5. To accumulate, make easily available and distribute information on new and updated products and applications, to company personnel, distributors and end users.
6. Assist in the preparation of the annual company business plan regarding product sales quantities and related marketing expenses.
7. Assist in the training and development of any personnel within the department to effectively increase the knowledge and capability of company personnel.
8. Liaise with other company offices, world-wide, to update information on latest product developments and disseminate relevant information generated in company Asia Pacific on a reciprocal basis.
9. In addition to the above duties, the incumbent is required to perform any related duties assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Essential:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or technical field or equivalent, MBA desired.
2. 7+ years experience in marketing or sales with demonstrated creative ability, preferably in fluid handling, flow control or related industry
3. Thorough knowledge of the buying habits of the distribution channel and end-users it serves.
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, both internal and external.
5. Demonstrated ability in product management, product planning or program management
6. Demonstrated skills in planning, problem solving and an understanding of business operations and marketing management.
7. Effective oral and written skills.
8. Effective presentation and training skills.
9. Fluent English language skills in reading, writing and oral.
10. Demonstrated ability to use computer for accessing and analyzing data.
11. Demonstrated knowledge of spreadsheet, database and graphics software.
12. Willingness to travel over 30% of the time and relocate as required.

Desirable Qualifications:

1. Competitor product and application experience
2. MBA or other advanced marketing degree
3. Strong background or experience in areas relevant to the assigned technology
4. Familiar with Anticorrosion Industry
