GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Product Launch Manager will be responsible for ensuring the timely introduction of new product lines with incumbent or new suppliers which will meet the program requirements for Global Aftermarket. The product launch Manager will facilitate the APQP/NPI/AMPV (Advanced Product Quality Planning / New Product (Process) Introduction / Aftermarket Product Validation) processes as necessary which will culminate in a successful PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) submission. The key role in this will be to liaise and garner input from all required parties (including but not limited to; F-M Engineering, Supplier Quality and Development, Purchasing, Subject Matter Experts and Suppliers) to fulfil the program objectives. The Product Launch Manager will support the Assessment and Auditing of incumbent and potential suppliers to the Federal-Mogul Supplier Requirements Manual and fulfil any other initiatives/duties deemed appropriate by the Product Launch Co-Ordinator. Working closely, with dotted line reporting to the regional Purchasing Director, the Product Launch Manager will be responsible for ensuring that local operational and commercial needs are met whilst maintaining a practicable balance between the Voice of the Customer (F-M) and Business (F-M/Supplier relationaship).

The Product Launch Manager will support the overall Business Operating Processes and Quality Systems of Federal-Mogul Corporation.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The Product Launch Manager will be capable of leading a multi-tasking team of cross-functional professionals in the delivery of challenging programs which will support the companies stated aims of superior product delivered on time. A familiarity with automotive processes and the implications of these will drive the Product Launch Managers to ensure that the supplybase concerned with each program will have the necessary capabilities to deliver the companies needs. Development of the supply base's Business Operating Processes and Quality Systems will be critical to the successful outcome and long term sustainability of these programs and the ability to work under your own initiative will be required.

Substantial amounts of travel and un-sociable hours will be expected as the demands of this role require a flexible and self-motivated approach.

Ensure that all pro-active steps are taken to mitigate risks associated with new product launch and build into programs the foundations for sustained supplier performance.

Communicate effectively the requirements, both stated and implied, of Federal-Mogul Corporation.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

A thorough understanding of Automotive APQP / NPI / PPAP processes.

Working knowledge of ISO9001:2008 and TS16949:2009.

Project and Time Management skills.

6 Sigma Certification would be an advantage.

Familiarity and application of Tools such as FMEA, Control Plans and Global 8D.

Capacity Planning and Efficiency (OEE / OME) calculations with Run@Rate.

Technical / Design / Process knowledge of the product line to which this particular role pertains.

Competant in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project

Familiarity of Minitab or any other Statistical analysis software would be an advantage.

Ability to read and interpret Technical and Engineering Drawings and Specifications

EXPERIENCE

8 years working in the automotive industry and specifically to the discipline relating to this role.

Experience of working within various levels of an organisation and across functional areas.

2^nd or 3^rd Party auditing experience would be an advantage

Working within Value Stream Mapping and Process Flow analysis teams.

Supply Chain management / experience desirable

Financial and Commercial experience will an advantage.

EDUCATION

BSc or MSc in Engineering, Mechanics or a Science
