The person in this position will be responsible for delivering innovative unified communications (UC) software solutions on iOS, Android, WebOS, Windows Mobile, QNX, etc for the global business market. Specifically, this person will be responsible for driving the success of Polycom's UC software in general purpose mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.
Reporting to Director, VoIP Product Mgt in Canada

Responsibilities will involve:
? Driving the overall strategy and vision for Polycom's UC software in general purpose devices
? Writing detailed business plans, Market Requirements Documents (MRDs), and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) that define complete and highly differentiated solutions
? Work with Engineering to prioritize and scope the effort
? Work with Product marketing to distribute software releases for partners/customers
? Creating and managing a compelling roadmap which covers solutions up to 3+ years out
? Managing the software product lines through their complete lifecycle
? Interfacing with major partners and customers to understand their needs and how these needs translate into requirements
? Managing customer issue escalations requiring product management involvement by working with Polycom technical support and sales and ensure that product issues are quickly and efficiently resolved
In performing the above tasks there will be frequent interaction with customers and partners and it will be essential that the person in this position can represent Polycom in a knowledgeable and professional light.
Travel of up to 20% may be required for this position.


The ideal candidate will possess:
? Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent and 10+ years of Product Management experience.
? 3+ years of successful product management in UC related field
? Successful product management of iOS and or Android app development
? Demonstrated track record in the full range of product management activities including research, market opportunity evaluation, product definition, go-to market strategies, team leadership, product or solution positioning, financial analysis, and training
? Ability to build relationships with customers, channel partners, engineering, marketing and operations
? Excellent research, analytical, project management, and people management skills
? Demonstrated track record of effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
? Strong leadership skills and an ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
? Experience with developing hardware based products from concept through the industrial design process a strong plus
? Experience with developing solutions for markets in EMEA or US is a strong plus
? MBA preferred
