POSITION SUMMARY
Our client is an international producer of fine and specialty chemicals with more than 1000 employees and manufacturing plants in four countries. The products are used in agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, fragrances, vitamins and more. The European company specializes in chlorination, sulphonation, and methylation and is one of very few producers of high quality monochloracetic acid.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Sales Manager reports directly to the GM BU Acetyls China and indirectly to the head of M&S of the BU Acetyls
  • Take responsibility for profit and loss; maximize profitability by premium pricing at maximum output.
  • He/she is in charge to maximize profitability of China with locally produced material and imported material.
  • He/she is responsible for the development of a marketing strategy for the launch of high quality material in China, its realization and the regular evaluation.
  • He/she is in charge of developing a premium price strategy incl. payment terms, the right argumentation, its realization and regular evaluation.
  • He/she is responsible to minimize working capital (receivables and inventories).
  • Develop strategy, tactics, sales plans and profit targets and its regular evaluation
  • Deliver sales by developing relationships with key clients in the market.
  • Achieve targets for revenue, profitability and sales growth.
  • Manage the overall sales cycle and provide incremental improvements.
  • Demonstrated performance against sales objectives
  • Provides market intelligence regarding market demand, competitor direction, market share fluctuation, pricing etc.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor Degree or higher Degree in relevant Technical Discipline
  • Well-developed commercial understanding including strategic account management, sales process management and negotiations
  • Effective analyst and problem solver as well as an effective and efficient communicator
  • Strong Marketing knowledge in base and specialty chemicals sector
  • Strong sales/commercial orientation
  • Trusted adviser to clients - inventive problem-solver and effective listener to clients
