DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Conduct supplier factory OnSite Assessment (OSA) as part of the strategic sourcing/supplier selection process.
2.evaluate supplier process quality level for components (castings, machining, plastics, etc.,) to meet the standards imposed by the business requirements using PPAP methodology
3.evaluating deliverables such as: supplier process flow diagram, process FMEA, control plan, FAI, capability analysis for part and process CTQs, etc.
4. Manage the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for strategic NPD suppliers for multi-plant, and/or multi-region initiatives.
5.Establish proactive supplier process re-certifications plan for strategic suppliers.
6.Perform random supplier process and system audits to ensure that documented process flow is followed and robust process controls are in place for the process/part CTQs
7.Help develop the supplier's quality, manufacturing, and business processes through lean-Six Sigma methodology, error-proofing, problem solving, lead time reduction programs, etc.
8.Perform capacity analysis of suppliers' processes and gain a full understanding of WIP, first pass yield, cycle times, and key bottlenecks to ensure continuity of supply to IR facilities.
9.Verify and validate that the supplier is performing sub-tier supplier quality survey audits, maintaining performance metrics, and has a Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for qualifying supplied.
10.Be the commodity experts - liaison to the COEs, plants, and plant QEs on specific commodities.
11. Provide support to plant level QEs as needed to address complex commodity quality and/or delivery issues.
12. Support business initiative such VA/VE, productivity, etc.
13. Train/educate strategic suppliers on IR's supplier quality expectations
14. Link supplier performance to Ingersoll Rand customers' quality experience to develop improvement plans
Qualifications:
1.Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering, Master's in Engineering (or equivalent) is desirable.
2. Strong supplier management skills to ensure on-time project execution, be able to influence supplier' top management
3. Strong manufacturing background of mechanical components (especially casting, machining, stamping)
4. Strong project management skills, be able to understand project bottleneck, risks and make mitigation plan
5. Strong technical and analytical skills
6. Proficient in application of GD&T
7. Working knowledge of dimensional metrology
8. Strong influencing and communication skills, be able to work with supply chain, engineering and quality teams on a daily basis
9. Solid experience in process or quality control
10.Strong interpersonal skills
