Sr. Piping Design Engineer

Job Description and Qualifications Position Summary
This job position will be assigned to perform either in house piping design or supervising the local design institute for piping design for all Shanghai executed ASU, GGS, HYCO, Chemicals and Electronics projects. This position will require relative senior level of engineer who is able to perform the require piping design responsibilities and provide proper judgment in reviewing third parties' piping design drawing. He/she will be also expected toprovide piping design and construction material estimation in supporting to PDE.
Dimensions
Principal Accountabilities
Manage and perform various aspects of piping design including piping arrangement drawing, Isometric drawing, piping list, BOM preparation, piping support drawing, piping insulation standard etc.
Coordinate and communicate technical issues among various groups including US and Europe and Local Design Institute
Review and feedback piping basic and detail design drawing and spec completed by LDI or vendors
Understanding APCI engineering piping standard, spec and international industry piping engineering code and local code
Support project proposal estimation, project execution, commissioning and start up
Support on site piping construction for technical issues and provide resolution suggestion
Create equipment arrangement/plant plan for project bidding and execution.
Recommended Skills and Experience
Having at least 8 years experience in piping design
Detail knowledge of ASME B31.3 and China GB piping/ fittings and valves standard Basic understanding of machinery external load constraints / design criteria.
Familiar with piping design principles, pressure drop calculation and piping stress.
Familiar with piping testing, cleaning, and commissioning knowledge Know piping design criteria for equipment and piping layout.
Be familiar with PDS/Microsation/ Auto CAD design skill.
At least BS in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.
Fluent in oral and written English.
Be able to create equipment arrangement/plant plot plan will be a preference.
