Position Summary
Mid-Level Tourism Planner & Project Manager is a mid-career position in the planning studio. He/she is
responsible for the initiation, development, and execution of planning ideas throughout a project's lifecycle.
This position is expected to help manage small to medium size projects, as well as mentoring to more junior
staff in the planning studio.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provides project management for medium to large scale projects, including budget management,
ensuring deadlines are met, client management, staff coordination and management, and delivery of the
final product.
2. Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard tourism planning techniques, procedures, and criteria,
using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications on projects.
3. Provide project or task management to develop tourism planning concepts and translate them into clear
and compelling graphic images.
4. Develop solutions that effectively address the social, legal, and economic implications of the physical
form; modify and/or review drawings, construction documentation and detailing.
5. Confer with clients regarding design schemes and implementation.
6. Coordinate and consult with federal, state and local regulatory agencies on scope and impact of project
when necessary.
7. Assist clients with public hearings or meetings and manages public outreach activities.
8. Manage, prepare, correct and update documents;
9. Manage scopes, schedules and budgets;
10. Prepare for and participate in proposal interviews in addition to agency and client coordination and
relations.
11. Develop innovative solutions to problems.
12. Assist in marketing efforts to current clientele and to identify and attract new clientele.

Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in tourism planning or closely related fields. Master's degree preferred.
2. Generally requires 3 to 5 years experience in tourism planning projects.
3. Generally requires 2 years experience in project manager role.
4. Strong portfolio of built work which demonstrates excellent technical capabilities.
5. Previous experience successfully managing small teams.
6. Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills.
7. Expertise in Adobe Design Collection, and AutoCAD. ArcGIS Suite a plus.
8. Strong attention to detail.
9. Excellent organizational skills.
10. Be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
