Prime Function

To provide technical capability for the design and development of new and existing medical devices, From concept to volume manufacturing and to market in accordance with legislation and internal procedures.
Including generation of product life cycle, performance requirements tests, and documentation.


Duties and Responsibilities

? Design and development of medical devices utilising 3D CAD software (ideally Solid Edge) and other design tools
? Liaise with New Product Introduction team to ensure design brief is understood
? Liaise with external toolmakers and suppliers
? Liaise with Flexicare operational team for product development, tool making and product manufacturing
? Preparation of solid modules and samples
? Assist in the selection of appropriate materials
? Verification and validation of components and assemblies. (ISIR and appropriate testing, as required)
? Compile test instructions and reports
? Management of the company drawing register and master samples
? Modification/amendment of new/existing drawings in accordance with design standards
? Generation and maintenance of design related documents – i.e. DFMEA, Technical Project files to support market
clearance
? Facilitate appropriate initial build samples and hand over to production
? Liaise & communicate with Flexicare UK technical team.


Key Skills
3 – 5 years Design Engineering
Project Management - able to work on multiple projects, fast turnaround
Problem solving techniques (i.e. DFMEA)
Understanding of ISO13485:2003/MED DEV 93/42/EEC and or FDA regulations
Plastic moulding design an advantage
Languages – Basic communication oral & written English.
