Role Overview

The IP Support Manager manages the IP Support group of 10-15 IP Formalities Officers. The IP Support group handles all formalities throughout the IP portfolio management process for all types of IP, including (subsequent) filings, prosecution, grant and renewal/maintenance, as well as incoming correspondence from the IP offices, the national attorneys/agents and the business. The Manager guides the IP Formalities Officers in communicating with IP offices, national attorneys/agents and business. He/she steers the IP Formalities Officers (in content and time management), checks the adherence to procedures, e.g. time limits and is able to help the IP Formalities Officers with (complicated) legal issues. He/she reports functionally to Manager IP Support in Eindhoven, NL.

Profile
Education/experience: Batchelor’s or Master’s degree + several years of relevant experience in IP or general law firm.
People management skills
Affinity with legal matters. Knowledge of all types of IP (patents, trademarks, designs, domain names).
Should be able to get or already have an overview of the entire IP creation process to be able to support and guide his/her people
Affinity with IT systems
Excellent knowledge of the English language (written and verbal).
Excellent communication skills, also by telephone and video conference.
Ability to work in a global team as well as alone.
Shows initiative / is proactive, accurate, disciplined and organized.
Ability to work under pressure and to set priorities.
