As an Strategic Buyer for Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in
Shanghai, China, you will be responsible for developing and executing a
well-balanced commodity strategy and strategic risk assessment to secure supply chain resilience in a dynamic environment aligned with company goals. Sounds exactly like your dream job? Then start your career at our international

Your responsibilities
-Carrying out a professional supplier management, including the search,
selection, evaluation, classification, onboarding, and further development of
suppliers
-Driving innovation and value creation through supplier development
initiatives, including technology transfer, process improvements, and joint R&D
projects.
-Observing the market, analyze market trends and pricing data, perform
benchmarking activities, and develop TCO models to secure best-in-class cost
levels. Implementing a process for regular (at least annual) supplier price
reviews and improve the negotiation concept for price negotiations
-Collaborating and aligning with internal stakeholders, both locally and in
the Headquarter, and enable the swift launch of new technologies and products
-Being a strong networker, synchronize with local ABB counterparts to find
synergies and levers for cost and quality optimization.
-Driving complex contract negotiations and awarding procedures based on cost scenario analysis and defined awarding criteria, involving the relevant
stakeholders and their requirements and finally lead the presentation to the
top management
-Being an experienced buyer with a holistic perspective, bring in contractual
knowledge and enhance the contract management, secure a comprehensible
documentation and act based on the given procurement guidelines and tool
landscape
-Supporting the business by running cost estimates and cost forecasts on a
regular basis
-Developing and maintaining strong strategic partnership with key suppliers
making the difference in a volatile environment

Your background
-Graduate/post-graduate degree in an engineering discipline or
finance/business administration, strong understanding of technical aspects
-Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement and vendor management, mainly in the strategic procurement environment in China, ideally as part of a
procurement team of a global player
-Proven track record in building and executing sourcing strategies for global
players in China (local for global)
-Excellent local market knowledge, negotiation skills and experience in
managing highly complex contracts
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build
and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders across all
levels of an organization
-SAP MM and SAP Ariba Know-How
-Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese
