岗位职责：
1. 协调以下研发部门：育种、产品生物学、产品评价等，管理已建立的统计分析系统和数据库，发现潜在的可改进方面并缩小差距。
2. 执行既定的数据战略，确保所有报告中的高质量数据和连贯性。
3. 与育种，产品生物学，产品评价及研发信息学部门科学家，增加全球配置的数据库系统的适应性，确保客户有足够的培训以获取所需数据。
4. 为育种、产品生物学、产品评价科学家提供数据分析支持，包括产品表现分析和特别的项目分析。

岗位要求：
1. 五年以上工作经验，其中3年以上有产品研发 /研究数据分析经验
2. 博士或有3年农业科学经验的硕士
3. 有统计实验设计的基本知识
4. 有数据库架构和数据管理的基本知识
5. 能在S-Plus及/或SAS中使用标准查询语言，数据分析和数据报告

Role purpose
This position exists to Provide overall leadership to the Data Management team and provide data stewardship (completeness, confidentiality, integrity, and availability), collection, training and computing support for data owned by breeding, product biology and product evaluation teams. The key aspect is to maintain the Research and Development data asset, thereby preserving and enhancing the value of Syngenta

Accountabilities
1. Provide overall leadership to the Data Management team
2. In coordination with R&D functions namely: Breeding, Product Biology, Product Evaluation etc, manage established statistical analysis systems and databases, while identifying potential enhancements, stop gaps.
3. Work in conjunction with Data Management officers, Breeding, Product Biology, Product Evaluation scientists in defining the data strategy that supports and anticipates client’s requirements, while addressing data stewardship concerns.
4. Implementation of the agreed data strategy, ensure delivery of high data quality and consistency for all reporting.
5. Coordinate with Breeding, Product Biology, Product Evaluation scientists and RDIS to increase adoption of globally deployed database systems by relevant Breeding, Product Biology, Product Evaluation staff, ensure clients are trained adequately for their data handling needs.
6. Provide support for data analyses needs of Breeding, Product Biology, Product Evaluation scientists, including product performance analyses and special projects as needed.
7. Provide data for advancement process, patents and special requests from Breeding and Product Biology management.
8. Maintain a close and productive relationship with the Breeding, Product Biology and Product Evaluation teams by enabling seamless communication in order to anticipate and meet their needs. Interface with RDIS to ensure Product Development systems meet the needs of the scientists
9. Serve as key user for SPIRIT and related RDIS data systems; provide training to promote continuous improvement in use of SPIRIT, FIS and related data systems with the clientele.

Requirements:
Critical knowledge
1. A PhD or MS Degree with 3 years’ work in agricultural sciences
2. Understand the steps in plant breeding for a major seed business.
3. Understand the basics of statistical experimental design.
4. Understand basic computer hardware and software principles and terminology.
5. Understand data base structure and data management.


Critical experience
5+ years’ experience working for a major seed business with 3+ years working in product development/research data analyses

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities
1. Good understanding of field/greenhouse practices and develop a thorough understanding of SPIRIT and FIS
2. Knowledge in implementing measures to maintain data completeness, confidentiality, integrity, availability.
3. Ability to provide product performance analysis support is an advantage
4. Advanced knowledge on data query using standard query languages, data analyses, and data reporting in S-Plus and/or SAS
5. Extensive knowledge in using Microsoft Office products
6. Good planning and organizing
7. Formal presentation and training.
8. Effective communication both in Chinese and in spoken and written English
9. Strong interpersonal skills to lead, initiate, monitor and technically develop staff within a team-centered environment
10. Ability to assess and resolve problems and conflicts
