RIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:The Brand Manager is responsible for driving brand preference in consumer minds through the design and execution of clear brand strategies, creation of brand materials that are tailor to the customer’s needs/pain points/ and motivation; development of product and sales materials to support cross functional needs, to ultimately position our brands in a competitive way that will lead to increased market share.The brand manager will manage the STANLEY brand- one of our top professional brands that plays in several categories such as power tools, hand tools and storage solutions. You will be contributing to Stanley’s sales growth by designing campaigns and materials with compelling messages that will make the brand stand out and connect to our end users.You will report Reporting to the Brand Marketing Director- Asia; and work very closely with the digital, commercial, offline marketing teams and interact very closely with the local leadership team (General Manager and President):
- Commercial team to understand the product roadmap, product features and benefits, and commercial priorities
- Offline marketing to understand the offline events and develop the necessary materials to promote those events across China
- Digital team to brief them on upcoming new product launches and brand campaigns, so the digital team can design and implement a digital campaign to achieve the business goals
- Global brand team to get the latest updates about the brand, learn from other regions, get any support needed to implement campaigns in China
- In-house agency to develop all creative assets from landing pages, E-commerce content assets, sales materials, videos, photos, use-case content based on persona’s insights
- External agencies to develop content assets
- Liaise with regional brand managers to share best practices and create synergies to maximize resources
You will work closely with the brand specialist – who will report to you - on developing a variety of brand materials to launch new products or promote core categories.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Brand Strategy
- Work closely with global Brand franchise leader to align on marketing strategies and campaign planning
- Work side by side with the commercial team to align to develop annual marketing plan, get all the information needed to develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns to launch new products and support core business categories
- Leverage as much as possible from global campaigns and materials to launch new products or brand campaigns
- Develop integrated marketing campaigns (online and offline channels) for key initiatives. The Brand Manager will work with local stakeholders to plan and report results of campaigns.
- Develop a content strategy for Stanley brand mainly focused on digital channels
- Design campaigns that are user centric, by understanding Stanley’s target audience to develop compelling messages and content across channels
- Work with the Ecommerce team to understand key priorities to develop the necessary materials they need.
- Become the brand ambassador and ensure all materials developed in China are in line with the brand’s equity and visual guidelines
Communication Execution
- Develop brand/New product launch toolkits
- Develop brand materials (this include adaptations of global materials and creation of brand-new assets to meet the local needs)
- Develop ecommerce and online style guides and materials to ensure they are brand consistent – ensure content is updated and aligned with Brand and incorporating digital and ecommerce into plans
- Update content for brand website
- Assess the effectiveness of the content in order to keep improving the content creation
- Work with the in-house agency and external agencies to develop content assets to support campaigns
Drive continuous end-user acquisition and understanding
- Develop holistic campaigns focused on end-user acquisition and growing revenue
- Identify and calendarize content to activate end user engagement at a regional and local level
Key metrics for success:
- Increase brand awareness and share of voice
- Increase brand visibility across social media channels
- Increase brand sentiment
- Measure the impact on sales behind brand initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 8 years related experience as Brand or Marketing Manager.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing (Preferred) or equivalent. Masters/MBA is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. More languages a plus.
- Background in developing marketing strategies
- Experience with campaign design, omnichannel implementation and evaluation/assessment
- Experience in product launches
- Knowledge and understanding of Digital Marketing
- Strong analytical skills including the handling of financial data
- Demonstrates understanding of how organizations achieve profitability targets
- Ability to develop and manage budgets, pricing strategies and ROI analysis
- Experience/knowledge in commercial management of Power Tools Business is a plus
- Asia experience
- High energy level and highly motivated. A self-starter.
- Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment.
- Leader by influence: Strong leadership skills and demonstrated success in guiding, directing, motivating and mentoring local counterparts
- Lead strategically and proactively by example with a hands-on approach.
- Brand Knowledge: Understands product, users, motivations, and barriers
