Position Summary:
The engineer will be a technical expert and liaise throughout the design process from product specification to manufacturing of new DC charging stations across a range of charging levels. Key responsibility is to work closely with the Director of Product Management and partners to ensure a high quality product is brought to market. A main objective is to closely align with manufacturing during product design, prototype testing, design change implementation, customer-specific builds and creating product documentation by interfacing with all functional teams.
Key Responsibilities ：
1、Support design and testing of hardware components and systems used in the global electric vehicle charging industry
2、 Work closely with the manufacturing team to coordinate implementation of new product requirements to ensure the production and delivery of a high quality product
3、Liaise closely with European engineering team by regular reporting from an onsite presence at manufacturing partner
4、 Understand requirements that have an impact on the mechanical configuration and design of the product and ensure the requirements are included in the agreed scope of supply
5、Identify additional mechanical or component configurations which may be required in the product configuration
6、Performance testing of prototypes in laboratory and environmental simulations to diagnose and resolve engineering issues
7、 Work with test institute engineers to ensure compliance with certification testing and standards
8、 Coordinate and assist with resolution of complex service and vehicle interoperability issues
9、 Work closely with solutions team to make firmware modifications to existing platforms to ensure compliancy to all electric vehicle charging standards and protocols such as OCPP
10、Drive process discipline and accountability throughout the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of projects
11、Collaboration: Elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, peers, and other functional teams. Think outside the box to drive to creative solutions when challenges arise.
Candidate Experience and Qualifications：
1、Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required in an electronic engineering discipline with a minimum 5 years of electronics hardware development experience
2、Technical knowledge of the electrical products industry and/or electrical vehicle charger industry with fundamental understanding of industry standards and protocols preferred
3、Excellent written and verbal English communications skills to coordinate and align multiple projects in partnership with multiple DFS internal organizations
4、Understands the need for solid documentation as essential to the design process and has necessary skillset to produce quality engineering documents (product specs, design presentations, test plans, test reports)
5、Experienced user of revision control systems and engineering change management
6、Experience developing and testing electronic hardware components for electric vehicle charging
7、Willingness to use a hands-on approach for prototype and customer testing of hardware
