Job Description:

The Product Manager is responsible for managing one or more primary product categories throughout the product life cycle. Activities include developing a product roadmap, conducting competitive benchmarking, identifying and filling product gaps, leading cross-functional teams in developing new products and maintaining current products, managing product cost and profitability, leading product cost-reduction activities, monitoring and adapting the product portfolio strategy, leading product commercialization efforts, and providing marketing support for pricing, sales, training, literature, and promotions. Reports to Supplier Engineering Manager with dotted line to Head of US Product Management.

What you’ll do ?

Oversees the product life cycle and manage the development, profitability and market share growth of assigned products categories. ? Develops and maintains a product road map that positions Eemax/Rheem to win in the marketplace, drives customer centric innovations, ensures P&L growth, and includes the latest VOC input ? Leads cross-functional regional teams on product development projects ensuring project schedules are created, updated, maintained, and followed. Completes project justification analysis via ROI & payback periods and develop project buy-in. ? Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing and purchasing to drive cost reduction activities to maintain and grow product portfolio profitability. ? Partners with marketing, customer service and training to provide the sales team with the necessary sales knowledge, training and materials enabling them to sell the product. ? Prepares product forecasts and monitor inventory levels as serves as liaison with production to ensure supply timelines. ? Reviews and analyses industry & market trends and product data, keep sales team up to date on product insight/ updates regarding the company’s or competitor’s products. ? Leads competitive benchmarking activities to identify and address product gaps such as product teardowns, customer interviews, online research and other benchmarking methodologies.

What you need

• Bachelor Degree in engineering, marketing or business related field

• 5 or more years experience in product and project management. Previous experience as an intermediary between a U.S. company and a Chinese Company.

• HVAC or water heating industry experience preferred.

• Manufacturing industry experience is required

• Able to converse and communicate effectively (oral and in writing) in both Mandarin and English.

• Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite

• Eligible to obtain a passport and capable of international travel without restrictions.

• Good business acumen. Self starter. Able to execute initiatives with limited work direction.

• Experience in a similar role or relevant commercial experience would be advantageous.

II. Rheem China
In 1994, as one of the early batch of foreign companies in China, Rheem Australia set up a Joint-Venture (JV) in Chengdu under the brand of Everhot - Everhot Water Heater (Chengdu) Co., Ltd. In 2008, the JV was wholly owned by Rheem Group and officially changed the name to Rheem (China) Water Heater Co., Ltd in 2010. In 2020, Rheem Group further promoted the globalization strategy and focus on China to invest in the construction of the world's 6th R&D center and the world's 7th Innovation Learning Center (ILC) in Chengdu, Rheem China’s headquaters location.
Rheem China has been providing customers with excellent quality products by virtue of its global resource advantage all over the years. Since the establishment, we have introduced advanced storage (tank) product line from Australia, specializing in producing electric Storage and storage. Since 2000, in order to meet the domestic market demand, we started to develop horizon electric storage. In 2004, the company began to develop and produce heat pump products independently, which became one of the pioneers of heat pump products in China. In 2007, we began selling Raypak boiler products in China market. In 2012, the company introduced Paloma rapid gas water heater assembly line from Japan. In 2015, Rheem Group acquired EEMax, a global brand of instant electric water heaters to enter into China market. In 2017, Rheem acquired the top European brand Intergas, and the wall furnace products were added to our China production line.
