University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Senior Technical Officer in China Beacons Institute.

Your Responsibility

Your key responsibilities include:

• Manage the allocation of technical work and responsibilities to members of staff, and ensuring that work is carried out and performed to the required quality standards, taking the necessary measures to ensure effective performance.
• Manage, motivate and lead a team of highly qualified engineering technicians in order to support research activities to high standards within agreed targets.
• Play a key role in the management of the analytical/manufacturing laboratories in CBI.
• Contribute to the recruitment, training and development of own technical and/or experimental team.
• Contribute to the development in CBI technical related policies and procedures.

About You

• You should have more than 3 years of work experience in a relevant technical management/supervisory role;
• You should have proven experience in the identification and development of training for students and technical staff;
• You should have good knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations and policies, both in construction and laboratory management.

You will be offered a fixed term contract initially with University of Nottingham Ningbo China with effect from December 2020 or as soon as thereafter and on a secondment arrangement to work at China Beacon Institute.
