Position Summary

Proposal Engineer supports all Solutions Business (SSB) opportunities to deliver proposals with standard templates and costing tools and in accordance with the Project Approval and Review Board (PARB) process. The position will work closely with the team of Proposal Engineers for both Services and Solutions proposals and with respective country business leaders, Solution Consultants/ Architects, Sales and Engineering / technical support / consulting teams to scope and price proposals for the received RFQ and technical scope for proposals.

Scope

All Proposal team engineers (CSM and SSB) will report in to Proposal Team Lead. Will work towards achieving the CSM SSB collaboration objectives.

Receives proposal requests from business leaders, solution consultant/ architects, sales account managers, distribution to produce a proposal and then independently or working with the local engineering team / Solution Architect/ consultant determines the scope of the services. Uses the determined scope, standard proposal templates and standard costing tools to produce the proposal for reporting BU. Proposal engineer shall also support proposals in terms of PARB compliance, CSM SSB collaboration.

Where required and for larger proposals, works with the Asia Pacific proposal team for them to produce the proposal and reviews / confirms the proposal will meet the needs of the specific engagement.

Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.

Key Job Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with the LS(life science) Business unit SA/SC teams, Application Centre managers to prioritize and work on technical solution.
2. Provides accurate and professional proposals within reasonable timeframes in all circumstances.
3. Work closely with country Functional Leaders, viz. Finance, Contracts, and Credit etc., to ensure healthy yet simplified alignment with these functions.
4. Ensure compliance to tools and processes.
5. Identify and drive proposal quality, speed, and productivity. Support use of GEC for proposals.
6. Supports CSM SSB collaboration objectives
7. Ensures all proposals are compliant with the PARB process.
8. Needs to create proposals as per bandwidth.

Education / Experience Requirements

1. High level of expertise and knowledge in DCS, PLC, Standard Drive, Networks, Industry Knowledge, Application Knowledge.

2. Tact, excellent interpersonal skills, and self-motivation are essential characteristics.

3. Extensive analysis and problem-solving skills.

4. Good English writing and speaking skills.

5. Bachelor degree or above in automation or electrical engineering field. .

6. 5+ years’ experience as a proposal engineer or other project / application engineer position

7. Life science industry experience is preferred.
