BASIC FUNCTION:

 

Prepare, organize and manage implementation of all new Faucets and Accessories Engineering Development within the Asia Pacific Region in compliance with the Kohler China, Kohler Asia, Kohler Europe and Kohler North America New Product Schedules. Facilitate and manage the development of people and processes with the Asia Pacific region to support the above requirements.

 

RESPONSILIBITIES IN THE AERA OF “QUALITY”

 

1. Convert customer needs and requirements into technical specifications

2. Evaluate and define product test requirements

3. Prepare FMEA’s and product reviews.

   4          Develop and manage Kohler engineering standards compliance regionally

    

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. Design and recommend new products and be involved in the preparation of specifications for them with Marketing.

2. Plan and Execute necessary Research and development in compliance with the NPS Schedule

3. Complete studies on and prepare prototypes and engineering tests for new products.

4. Insure that product design is manufacturable. Manage launch of new products.

5. Rationalize products through the standardization of components.

6. Supervise the work of the Engineering Department especially concerning actions designed to improve productivity, studies on tooling and industrialization of new products.

7. Furnish the technical information required for marketing and sales promotions.

8. Facilitate and develop new processes.

9. Supervise and manage the work of subordinates; promote creativity, develop Kohler competencies.

10. Help prepare the Department’s budget and maintain compliance with it.

11. Develop and protect intellectual property (Patents)

12. Manage the development of new engineering processes and continually focus on improving time-to-market

13. Regularly develop and publish engineering measurements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

This position requires both broad engineering and marketing skills. Marketing skills will permit an effective liaison with the “products” Division. The candidate for this position should have the following:

 

• Design Engineering and technology skills (wide-ranging, in faucets)

• Ability to plan new product development and product launches

• Excellent interpersonal skills in view of the large number of internal and external relationships.

• Perfect English communication skill

   

EDUCATION  

Mechanical Engineering Degree or other related field

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

 

9 years minimum in engineering

2 years engineering management experience

3 years in design engineering
