Primary Purpose

To identify, prioritize and secure new Business Development opportunities in order to accelerate the multi-channel distribution consistent with Tapestry’s development plans.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Business Development…

Business Development (Evaluation)

- Understand & analyze market distribution opportunities through:

o Collecting/updating city zoning and development plans, understand transportation/traffic generators, retail projects, retail sales, competition and new real estate projects information by trade area

o Identifying & prioritizing city potential using demographics

o Identifying & prioritizing current/planned/upgrade development opportunities

o Analyzing market by channel (flagship, mall/shopping center, department stores, etc)

o Sizing market opportunity in terms of location number by city and volume potential

o Evaluate new sites based on traffic, competition, consumer profile, site size/capacity, rental costs and total investment ensuring profitability

- Identify, prioritize and secure new Business Development opportunities

Business Development (Negotiate)

- Influence landlords and department stores to contribute capital and/or marketing launch, VIP program support

- Negotiate business terms according to Tapestry's requirements, cooperate with legal department on finalizing leases/consignments

- Lead site checks/feasibility studies, including trade area survey and coordinate traffic count surveys

- Coordinate with CIA/construction and landlord, ensuring Tapestry can get alignment with landlord about new site survey, design and construction proposal

- Coordinate construction kick off meeting and ensure scheduling details communicated to cross-functional partners

- Partner in coordinating construction work smoothly during construction period, ensuring timely openings

- Assist in getting timely government approval of new site construction and new store openings

Networking / Market Insights

- Build independent relationships with brand management, market peers, real estate agents, landlords, etc.

- Identify road-show/marketing opportunities

- Attend conferences on market development, luxury market, etc. Partner in representing Tapestry in internal / external conferences

- Assist in identifying store/field candidates during meetings/travels – advise Senior Management of potential candidates

The accomplished individual will possess...

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

- 3-4 years of overall working experience gained in an MNC and ideally 1-2 years gained in the retail industry in a business development/real estate expansion capacity; experience with luxury brands/landlords is a plus

- Strong leadership, communication (written and verbal) and prioritization skills (time management)

- Strong knowledge of retail mathematics and architectural drawing reading

- Entrepreneurship; strong initiative driving self-development, and able to get things done

- Analytical, strong in decision making & problem solving; highly organized, influential, flexible and decisive

- A strong team player; promote teamwork & possess team leadership (i.e. ability to work independently as well as being part of a team)

- Strong code of ethics

- Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint

- Fluent in English and Mandarin
