POSITION SUMMARYThis position, the Large Plant Commercial Manager (LPCM), Asia Region, is responsible for the commercial management of large equipment sale projects to third party customers and Air Products joint ventures for ASU or Process Gases project opportunities in the Asia region. In addition, the Commercial Manager will have responsibility for the business development of targeted opportunities in region. Large projects will have SOE revenue typically ranging from $10 *** to $500 ***.
This position is the lead commercial representative for ESPS for their allocated portfolio of projects and is responsible for all aspects of commercial execution and the customer relationship. This will include ensuring effective delivery of the requirements of the contract, managing/negotiating changes, billing and invoicing, client relationship management and oversight of project execution through participation in key internal and external project review and stage-gate meetings.
This position is also responsible for leading business development activities for targeted opportunities including opportunity engagement strategy, commercial proposal development and contract negotiation. The employee will be the commercial lead for Air Products contacts with outside parties related to the projects, working alongside the Project Director.
NATURE AND SCOPE
The Equipment Sales & Plant Support business area is responsible for global Equipment and After Sales Services to third party customers and AP joint ventures.
Air Products’ goal is to have a “focused and selective” Equipment Sales and After Sales Services business that proactively supports the company’s competitiveness and growth initiative. Specifically, this business provides a broad range of cryogenic and non-cryogenic new plant offerings for large industrial gas plants, and equipment used for gas separations in the oil and gas, refining, power, chemicals, mining, and other industries. Technologies can include large ASUs, SYNGAS separation for H2 and CO production, Nitrogen rejection units and Helium recovery equipment for EOR/ and natural gas processing projects, or other gas separations using Air Products expertise.
The strategic growth plan, and the current rate of completion of new contracts in region requires a dedicated lead for Commercial Management throughout the execution phase, as well as the active development of new business.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide Commercial Management for all ESPS projects in region.
- Provide input to the development of contract Terms and Conditions for new opportunities.
- Support the effort to increase new plant sales by owning their market and region and supporting sales decisions including risk/reward determinations, pricing, markups and sales terms and conditions.
- Support the development of commercial work processes for ESPS.
- Embody the 4S culture of Safety, Speed, Simplicity and Self-Confidence within and outside Air Products.

Education/Qualifications:
- B.Sc. Technical degree (or equivalent); MBA a plus
- Expected minimum 10 years experience including at least 5 years in commercial role (Contract Management, Commercial management, Business Development or Proposal Management).
- Strong customer orientation and ability to communicate and work with external customers.
- Ability to work cross functionally inside Air Products
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Negotiating skills
- Thorough understanding of SOE/EPC-type contracts.
- Project Management experience valued
- Background in Industrial Gas Technology valued.
