University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Research Management Officer in China Beacons Institute.

    

    

Your Responsibility

    

    

Your key responsibilities include:

                    

• Research programme management (pre-award support): identify new funding opportunities, circulate and update funding calls among CBI research community on a rolling basis; assist researchers with the preparation and processing of funding application by analysing and interpreting proposal requirements; Work with Finance Office to review the budget and budget justification in the proposals or contracts to ensure their compliance with the policies and regulations of the University and the funding agency.
• Research programme management (post-award oversight): Manage any modification to the initial award during project delivery phase, such as no-cost extension, change in personnel, scope revision, budget reallocation, etc; Monitor the delivery of funded research projects; Work with the award close-out team to file all the paperwork, internal and external, to close out the project and address items such as residual funds, equipment disposition, intellectual property generation, etc. in accordance with the award document.
• Act as liaison between academic community and external funding agencies.
• Work alongside Business Development Manager to engage extensively with innovation-oriented industry partners; Monitor inventions, discoveries, copyrighted works and technical information arising from CBI research works.
• Organise research related events; Support on internal research meeting organisation, such as agenda creation, document preparation, minute-taking and action follow-up.

    

    

About You

• You should have Bachelor’s Degree in relevant areas; Master Degree is preferred.
• You should be fluent in both Chinese and English and should have strong communication skills in written and oral.
• At least 2 years of work experience in research administration and support, and a minimum of 2 year of project management experience is preferred.
• Good understanding of funding system and state and regional regulations and procedure governing science and technology activities.

You will be offered a fixed term contract initially with University of Nottingham Ningbo China with effect from February 2021 or as soon as thereafter and will be on a secondment arrangement to work at China Beacon Institute.
