MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:      

       ·  To create Foaming material BOM,

      ·   Support to control the PU foam quality in plant and build a simple monitor method for the  

          PU Foam in different plants.

       ·  To create/maintain the initial foam mix process flow charts, preliminary process layouts    

          and process concept;

       ·  To develop and adjust the PU foam recipe, and coordinate with our globle foam experts  

          Team.

       ·  To update the list of potential special characteristics (component/ material) ;

       ·  To lead the trouble shooting in the foam  setup / optimization, be responsible to    

          create the root course analyses and 8D report;

       ·  To maintain and optimize the material and product specification accordingly in line with     

           PLM and to assist purchasing in sourcing phase;

       ·  To lead the maintain / update the PFMEA;

       ·  To lead and reviews feedback from prototype builds (product & material);

       ·  To lead the VAVE on the foaming raw material.(material cost, cycle time, scrape etc)

       ·  To participate in the Continuous Improvement Management System within DEC;

       ·  Support to develop foaming process concept;

       ·  Support Foam process feasibility study and proposal suitable solution;

• Work on development projects according to the agreed project plans in cooperation with other relevant departments and Autoneum global experts in order to fulfill the specification needed. Define and develop new material products and systems that integrate and optimize mechanical functions for aerodynamic, acoustic and thermal management performance along with weight, cost quality and ease of assembly in vehicles.
• Work with Autoneum Material Development Engineering, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure thorough planning and execution of program relevant simulation and validation test activities related to new material products at Autoneum and / or customer laboratories.
• Define conditions for trials of new materials in cooperation with the purchasing departments and the R&T experts.

MAIN QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:

Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in the PU Foam development and testing of automotive components manufactured from engineered foam / high polymer materials.  Experience in nonwoven engineer and / or acoustics is an advantage.

• PU foam material development experience within an automotive tier 1 or tier 2 supplier with an understanding of the limitations of materials and processes.
• Experienced at reviewing and analyzing PU foam material test data and providing feedback and action plans for improvements.
• Communicates regularly with suppliers and OEM.
• Works with design / product teams to achieve cross functional objectives and defines counter measures to solve issues within the performance constraints of the product offering.

Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams that work across functions as well as OEM/Supplier boundaries.  Must be:

• Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to develop and communicate clear plans of action.
• Excellent people skills and ability to build deep, trusting relationships.
• Comfortable speaking and presenting at all levels of an organization.
• Comfortable and effective challenging and motivating people to perform.
• Must be an excellent problem solver.

Must be proficient in PC and office productivity software (Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, etc.)

Must be willing to travel and communicate.

• Basic written and verbal English communication skill is required.
• Travel regularly within China.
• Travel internationally if required (Europe and N. America).
• Must be prepared to communicate with colleagues globally outside of regular working hours.

Bachelor degree or above majored in high polymer material / chemistry or other relevant discipline.
