Purpose: 
The position is responsible for the safe and efficient commissioning activities for the project to the highest standards expected of APCI.   The position shall be responsible for the management and planning of all inspection, testing and commissioning activities, manages the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup phases of LASU, Mid-Cryo, Standard Product (HPN,VSA,PSA,PHG, H2 PSA…) , CDA ,Purifier and CQC system Projects with primary accountabilities being safety, cost, schedule, and reliability.

Nature and Scope:
The position reports to Asia Manager Startup, GEMTE.
This position is responsible for bringing newly constructed plants into commercial production for handover to the operating staff in safe and reliable mode, while meeting project schedule and budget commitments.
The position plays a critical role in the successful pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup of large and complex facilities by leading field commissioning team of multiple disciplines in order to meet project success factors.
This position must possess a commitment to safety and have excellent health commensurate with frequent international travel, a flexible attitude to travel, sometimes on short notice and be prepared for extended periods away from home. Facilities locations are predominantly in Asia, but could be worldwide, some in harsh environments.
 
 
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Responsible to EH&S of the commissioning team and all other personnel on the site (construction, contractors, vendors, customers, operations)
2. Developing and aligning Commissioning and startup strategy, including resource alignment, commissioning/ startup technical package preparation, tools preparation and schedule alignment.
3. Leading the team on site to conduct the commissioning and startup tasks as planned with complying company work process and Code requirement as well
4. Maintaining and handing over all commissioning and startup record, report, drawing and ect to Operations or Customer
5. Maintaining a right level of communication with all stakeholders
6. Leading Plant performance test
7. Collecting Lesson Learned proactively, closing them and sharing with team as necessary

 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The Startup Engineer will have a minimum 6 years’ experience in engineering or operation as well as a minimum of 3 years direct experience with commissioning and startup of large process plants.
Additional Qualifications:

• Chemical engineering or Process control background will be a plus.
• Position requires frequent travel and expected full time at facility for the period
• Able to work in team environment and always maintain a positive disposition even in times of high workload
• Demonstrate the highest degree of integrity within the team and with outside customers
• This position requires experience in commissioning cryogenic & non-cryogenic ASU (air separation unit) plant and H2 plant, having engineering and operation experience to ASU will be a plus.
• Having Ultra High Purity knowledge and experience of flammable gas / high temperature process gas systems will be a plus as well.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and timely decision-making ability in high stress situations
• Good written and verbal English
