Job Summary: The Risk Management and Compliance Lead will be assigned to TraneTechnologies’s HVAC and Transport Asia Pacific. The objective of the Compliance Lead role is to improve the design and effectiveness of internal controls through the performance of various types of audits or assessments. The ideal candidate will use the results of audits and consultative engagements to collaborate with management to identify and implement common-sense long-term sustainable fixes to audit issues and operational challenges.
Responsibilities:
Sarbanes-Oxley 404:
The Compliance Lead will be responsible for the execution of annual SOX Compliance Program as follows:
Execute the annual plan of SOX Compliance Program to ensure the completion of key program objectives and timelines
Perform detailed walkthroughs of key processes to document the design of key SOX controls, develop or update process narratives and identify any design gaps for remediation.
Perform testing of key controls, confirm any deficiencies with control owners and where required develop and validate remediation actions.
Support testing team in terms of coaching audit techniques and process, documentation, and risk assessment.
Support overall SOX Compliance program project management including resources assessment and allocation, quality assurance on testing, issue verification and remediation, and general project and issue reporting.
Continuous Improvement
Develop and conduct risk and control assessment plan to assess key operational and financial risk across APAC region.
Engage continuously with Business and Finance leaders to understand/identify process improvement opportunities through an annual CSA program.
Collaborate with the Business and Finance leaders to determine the key Improvement projects for implementation, make appropriate recommendation and be a key part of the solution provision activities.
- Plan, manage and carry out reviews and continuous monitoring of in scope entities business processes managed by SOX Compliance Function.
Consultative Engagements & Special Projects:
Perform consultative type engagements based on senior leadership request that require in-depth process design reviews and data analytics and make improvement recommendations to the senior leadership team.
Perform various research or assessment for Continuous Improvement on operation or financial reporting process
Serve as business partner to all functions in addressing compliance related questions, interpretation of policies and standards and supporting the documentation of standard work instructions.
Compliance Metrics
The Compliance Lead will be responsible for the design and publication of compliance metrics for each key location within the HVAC and Transport Asia Pacific.
Effectively use these metrics to manage the timely remediation of audit issues through reviews with location leadership and remediation action owners.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Accounting, Finance/Economics, Management, Information Systems, Business and/or a related business field
Minimum of five years of experience required earned from prior working experience in one more of these fields: Internal Audit, External Audit, Internal Controls and Compliance.
Prior experience required in leading internal audit assignment and drafting and finalizing audit reports
Certifications preferred: CIA, CPA, CMA or CISA
- Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical modeling and analysis
Proficient with Excel and visualization and analytics tools such as Tableau and ACL

- Ability to produce robust analytical work in a space where data is often imperfect
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese

10% of travelling may be required
