Position Summary:

Work as a member of the Trane Engineering & Technology Center to develop gas furnaces and associated products. Specific responsibilities could include: gas furnace development, validation and reliability improvement; gas key component development, testing, evaluating.

 

Major responsibilities:

1. US Residential gas furnace design and qualification

2. US light commercial rooftop design and qualification

3. Gas products operating limits and qualification specifications

4. Gas products performance, efficiency and cost optimization

5. Development of key suppliers and capabilities to deliver performance, feature differentiation and supply security

6. Design for reliability

7. Lead performance certification function with ETL/AHRI

8. Lead product issue resolution

 

Education/Experience:

1. Minimum BS in engineering required (BSME preferred.)

2. At least 3 years related furnace or gas application product experience required

3. Electrical heating experience a plus

 

Key Competencies:

1. Knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics, familiar with combustion is plus

2. Understanding of residential furnace, light commercial rooftop, application, standards is plus

3. Familiarity US standards, especially for ANSI Z21.47 & ASHRAE standard is plus

4. Knowledge and experience with a robust product development process and the product development life cycle

5. Good verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English

6. Familiarity with PC based Windows programs (Excel, Word, Access, etc)

7. Good knowledge of material technology and manufacturing method, CAD

8. Good problem solving skill and conflict management skill

9. Six sigma training/certification preferred

10. 10% travel required
