POSITION TITLE:         Project Engineer - Packaging

 

DEPARTMENT:             K&B Group Packaging

 

DIVISION:               Kohler China Investment Co. Ltd.

 

GROUP:                Kitchen and Bath

 

BASIC FUNCTION

 

Responsible for package projects for Kitchen & Bath products in China. Focus on meeting the overall business goals of the Kitchen & Bath Group. 

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Design, document and evaluate packaging applications for new and existing Kitchen 

        & Bath core products (Include bath, toilet, urinal, lav, bidet, furniture and other K&B fixture products), incorporating technology, efficiency and creativity.

   

• Provide Engineering support for product packaging from concept, through 

        production/distribution, to final installation and/or destination.

   

• Incorporate quality practices with focus on corporate, divisional and departmental 

  missions and goals.

   

• On time delivery package documents, including drawings, BOM list, testing report, evaluate reports for NPD&REA projects.

   

• Reduce packaging costs.

   

• Promote internal and external cross-functional collaboration supporting team

        environments.

   

• Facilitate engineering innovation in daily activities and challenges.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Package Engineering or equivalent degree required.

   

• 3-5 years work experience in retail package material/structure/transportation experience within a concurrent engineering environment. 

   

• Must have a solid knowledge of engineering principles applied to the design of product packaging; field data analysis methods, quality and reliability engineering techniques, concurrent project management practices, package/product performance test protocols, material & machinery applications and graphic communications.

   

• Good communication skills.

   

• Proficiency with Pro-E and AutoCAD.

   

• Proficiency in English.

   

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

 

• Directly report to Associate Manager of Packaging

• Frequent contact with product engineers, Manufacturing, Marketing and Packaging vendors.

• Frequent inter-company contacts with relevant Packaging team in USA and India.
