• Investigate, define, tune and debug algorithms for voice processing
• Develop protocols for evaluating and validating DSP algorithms, audio software, and hardware
• Define, design, and execute objective and subjective evaluations of audio/video conference systems
• Conduct acoustic measurements and data collection for cloud audio/video conference applications
• Work closely with external vendors and cross-functional teams to investigate, define, and iterate algorithm advancements
• Triage and root cause audio issues, providing actionable details to developers
• Define and follow detailed technical requirements and metrics for image quality specification and testing.
• Participate in design reviews

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:

• Strong skills in python programming, and MATLAB scripting
• Familiarity with or ability to learn Linux/UNIX command line utilities, bash scripting
• Knowledge of ITU-T and ETSI specifications for voice communications: e.g. G.711, G.718, G.719
• Experience with HEAD Acoustics ACQUA and setting up HATS measurements
• Experience with digital audio, audio DSP
• Ability to hear digital audio artifacts, identify and localize physical acoustic defects
• Good teamwork player and strong self-motivation in high pressure working environment
• Good English communication skills in both verbal and written

In addition, preferable skills and behaviors include:

• Programming experience in JavaScript
• Experience with Git and cloud-based version control systems
• Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking / project management tools

• Bachelor or Master degree in Acoustic engineering, Signal processing, Computer science or related major
