Key Objectives and tasks:

• Develop product requirement specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software(firmware)/mechanical compatibility
• Apply the requirements of relevant regulations to product design
• Defines system level risk management strategies
• Develops overall product system architecture designs
• Interfaces with and leads customer product development calls and meetings that pertain to the overall system architecture and performance specification.
• Responsible for systems level development and testing requirements. Approves test reports.
• Has broad-breath of knowledge across system, mechanical, electrical, optical and software engineering
• Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and supports and explains reasoning for decisions
• Understands and finalizes specifications on the design requirements through communication with customers and/or internal team members
• Creates system test specification for design verification
• Lead the design of system from concept review, design change, defining the technical routes to realization.
• Supports China marketing development manager in identifying future technologies
Leads the system integration efforts. Participates in design and technical reviews

Qualifications:

• BS. or Ms degree in Electronics, Automation, Precision Instruments, Mechatronics, photo electronics or similar major
• Prefer 8 years design experience, more than 3 years in Life Sciences products
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of time

Skills and Specifications:

• Familiar with a variety of electromechanical or photo electronic design concepts, practices, and procedures in protein and cell biology in life sciences research
• Experience generating technical documentation such as product requirements, specifications, engineering reports, test plans & procedures, validation plans and reports.
• Risk management (risk analysis, FMEA) experience strongly desired.
• Ability to provide creativity while solving complex problems without known solutions.
• Has demonstrated cross functional communication skills. Able to work with multiple sites in multiple geographies

• Effectively communicates (verbal and written) new insight and ideas with cross-functional team in Chinese and English.
